POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Marketing to lead all marketing efforts for our growing brand. As the first senior marketing hire on a lean team, you will need to feel comfortable driving big picture strategy while also hopping in and around platforms with a high-level of organization and attention to detail. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our brand strategy, driving growth, and building out our marketing capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in both larger companies and earlier stage startups, with specific experience in the beauty/CPG industry, ideally with exposure to Sephora.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the strategic vision for Kate McLeod’s growth and retention marketing efforts across channels, building customer journeys that maximize replenishment, repurchase, and LTV
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to drive both growth and retention
  • Lead the development of our brand and product marketing, ensuring alignment with our target audience and competitive landscape
  • Own the marketing calendar, including planning and executing campaigns across various channels and platforms
  • Build and manage a high-performing marketing team, including internal hires and external vendors, to support our growing needs
  • Drive innovation and experimentation in our marketing efforts, constantly seeking new opportunities to optimize performance and ROI
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, sales, and customer experience, to ensure alignment and synergy across all initiatives
  • Monitor and analyze key metrics to track the effectiveness of our marketing efforts and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance
  • Own and manage marketing budgeting & analytics reporting, including channel forecasting and ROI assessments

REQUIREMENTS

  • B.A required; 8-10 years of experience in marketing roles, with a strong background in both brand and performance marketing
  • Proven experience driving marketing initiatives in the beauty/CPG industry, ideally with exposure to Sephora
  • Track record of success in building and leading high-performing marketing teams, with experience in hiring and developing talent
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that drive measurable results
  • Demonstrated interest in going “earlier stage” and driving impact at earlier stages of business growth
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using data to inform decision-making and optimize performance
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels within the organization
  • High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive into the details while also driving big-picture strategy
