We are seeking a Director of Marketing Automation to join our dynamic marketing operations team. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Marketo and act as the product owner. This role will focus on scaling our marketing automation efforts across multiple business functions and regions, driving email strategy, and maximizing the marketing automation platform (MAP) roadmap and spend. This is a highly cross-functional role requiring strategic and tactical execution, as well as strong program management.
What You'll Do:
Marketing Automation Platform Product Owner:

  • Serve as the Product Owner and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Marketo, overseeing all aspects of the platform, including configuration, integration, and ongoing maintenance
  • Maximize the potential of the marketing automation platform to drive efficiency and effectiveness in campaign execution
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including GDPR, CCPA, and others


Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop, operationalize, and optimize a comprehensive email marketing strategy, including automated campaigns, lead nurturing, segmentation, and scoring, in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Audit and enhance email performance using data-driven insights, such as A/B testing and quality assurance
  • Conduct research and analyze metrics to uncover untapped audiences, segmentation opportunities, and gaps in the customer experience


Scalability and Optimization:

  • Scale marketing automation efforts to support multiple business units and regional marketing teams, ensuring relevance across languages and regions
  • Optimize campaign performance through data analysis, continuous improvement, and innovation within the MAP


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with sales, product, IT, and customer success teams, as well as regional marketing teams, to ensure alignment and consistency in global marketing campaigns


Roadmap and Innovation:

  • Drive the MAP roadmap by identifying and implementing new features and functionalities that align with business goals
  • Identify and capitalize on gaps and opportunities within the MAP


Training and Enablement:

  • Provide training and ongoing support to marketing team members on best practices and effective use of the marketing automation platform
  • Develop and maintain documentation and resources to ensure continuous team enablement


What You'll Need:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing automation, or a closely related field
  • Marketo and Salesforce Experience Cloud administration experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong focus on Marketo (or equivalent MAP); Marketo Certified Expert (MCE) certification is a plus
  • Experience in a fast-growing SaaS company with revenues of $1B or more
  • Proven experience creating and operationalizing global email marketing strategies, including lead nurturing, segmentation, and scoring programs, and scaling/adapting across regions and languages
  • Demonstrated understanding of email nurturing methodology as part of an optimized buyer's journey
  • Experience working with marketing, sales, sales enablement, sales operations, customer success, and technical stakeholders to develop processes for a high-growth marketing organization; exceptional problem-solving skills are essential
  • Excellent analytical, project management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to interpret data, provide actionable insights, and lead multiple projects in a matrixed, global organization


Travel Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Minimal travel, less than 10%
  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office


How You'll Be Rewarded
• Salary range in the US: $147,000.00 - $250,000.00• A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
• Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
• 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package
