We’re actively seeking a Director, Marketing Analytics & AI Transformation to join the Consumer Markets Division (CMD) Marketing organization in Newport Beach, CA.
How you'll help move us forward:
As a Director, Marketing Analytics & AI Transformation you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by partnering with marketing and other business leaders to identify high-impact business use cases, perform analysis on marketing performance and customer behavior, design agents and their tools and guardrails, implement and monitor these agents, and drive their adoption and continual improvement. This role leads a 6-person team within the Consumer Markets Division, and this role's responsibilities include,
Marketing Use-Case & Analytics Discovery: Lead discovery efforts with marketing leaders and key partners to identify repeatable analytic and AI workflows that can be partially or fully automated (e.g., audience-building, campaign QA, creative testing, budget adjustments, insights synthesis), including identify analytical questions and decision points within these workflows. Translate high-level marketing goals into agent tasks, analytical requirements, tools, and guardrails, and co-define success metrics (e.g., time saved, performance uplift, error reduction, user satisfaction) to ensure they are analytically sound, consistently measured, and aligned with enterprise scorecards.
Analytics & Agent Experimentation: Translate analytical findings and agent-generated insights into clear, actionable recommendations for marketers and senior leadership, including narratives tailored to non-technical audiences by designing analytic and agent frameworks that analyze campaign performance, identify anomalies, and recommend tests. Suggest audience segments, messaging variants, or channel mix changes. Summarize drivers of performance using intermediate-to-advanced analytic techniques (e.g., cohort analysis, funnels, contribution analysis, basic modeling, etc.).
Adoption, Enablement & Change Management: Drive organizational change and adoption of AI- and analytics-powered marketing. Lead pilots, gather structured feedback, and rapidly iterate agents and analytics solutions. Help marketers understand when to trust agents vs. when to override. How to provide effective feedback to improve agent and model performance. How to interpret analytics, scorecards, and KPIs produced by or impacted by agents. Act as an analytics and AI thought partner to marketing leaders, helping them frame business questions, interpret results, and make data-driven decisions enabled by AI and analytics.
Leadership, Governance & Cross-Functional Influence: Lead and influence cross-functional working groups spanning various marketing functions and capabilities. Set priorities for multiple functional teams and be accountable for allocation of underlying resources. Establish governance, standards, and best practices for marketing AI agents, experimentation, and analytics usage. Address unique and complex business problems that have broad impact on business outcomes beyond the CMD marketing organization, including CMD’s distribution and operational environment.
The experience you bring:
6+ years of specialized experience in marketing analytics, marketing technology, AI/ML, or related disciplines, including significant business knowledge within financial services.
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated understanding of enterprise marketing workflows and metrics (CRM/lifecycle, paid media, funnels, attribution, attrition, LTV, ROAS, retention, etc.), and the ability to decompose them into automatable agent tasks and analytics problems.
Strong stakeholder communication and a product mindset, with high comfort operating in ambiguity. Ability to explain what agents and analytics can and cannot do, design human-in-the-loop workflows and guardrails, and clearly articulate analytical assumptions, limitations, and implications.
Proven ability to quantify impact (e.g., time saved, uplift, incremental revenue) and link analytic outcomes and AI interventions to business value.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
