The Role
The Director of Market Intelligence & Analytics will establish a market intelligence capability, develop analytical models, and provide insights for strategic decision-making and commercial performance.
Summary Generated by Built In

The Director, Market Intelligence & Analytics will build Lineage’s first formal market intelligence capability from the ground up—designing advanced analytical models, data-driven frameworks, and decision-support tools that deliver enterprise-grade insights to the commercial organization. Insights and analysis will also be packaged to inform and update the executive leadership team (ELT). This role will surface actionable intelligence on market forces, customer behaviors, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decision-making, investment prioritization, and commercial performance across North America (US and Canada), Europe and AsiaPAC.

This leader will apply deep technical expertise, commercial understanding, and cross-functional influence to anticipate market trends, quantify risk and opportunity, and shape the company’s strategic posture in an increasingly complex, data-rich environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Lineage’s inaugural market intelligence capability, defining its charter, methodologies, and operating rhythm in close partnership with Strategy, Finance, Data Science, Sales Excellence, Focus Markets and Technology.
  • Leverage Lineage’s technology stack and data infrastructure to develop predictive, scenario-based analytical models incorporating internal and external variables such as demand shifts, energy markets, commodity pricing, labor trends, power dynamics, policy changes, and climate impacts.
    • Own the enterprise market-sensing and early-warning system, integrating internal and external signals to forecast demand shifts, competitive moves, and macro supply chain disruptions.
  • Translate high-dimensional data into clear, validated and actionable insights/recommendations that guide commercial strategy, network optimization, pricing approaches, and investment decisions.
  • Create structured enterprise intelligence reports and dynamic dashboards that integrate real-time signals from across the cold chain ecosystem—energy, agriculture, logistics, and food manufacturing
    • Creating actionable insights to the decision-making level to drive efficiency and enable commercial execution
  • Partner with the VP, Regional Focus Market and regional commercial leaders to secure aligned, market intelligence deliverables to strategic priorities and inform go-to-market decisions.
  • Partner with Finance, Product, Data Science and Technology teams to integrate intelligence into forecasting, contract evaluation, and product innovation initiatives.
    • Partner with Technology and Data Science teams to define Market Intelligence data architecture requirements and advance AI-based analytical models.
  • Lead a small, high-impact team (1-2 analysts, initially), cultivating advanced analytical capabilities and expanding scope as business needs evolve.
  • Identify data gaps, process inefficiencies, and new data sources to elevate analytical sophistication and market coverage to drive continuous improvement.
    • Establish and govern Lineage’s market intelligence standards, including methodology, validation, reporting cadence, and adoption.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in market intelligence, analytics, or data science, preferably within logistics, supply chain, or adjacent industries
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement new analytical frameworks and intelligence platforms
  • Advanced technical skills in SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Sigma or Power BI
  • Experience working with enterprise data environments and cloud analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS)
  • Strong understanding of commercial operations, customer contracts, and pricing dynamics
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex data into strategic insights and present them clearly to senior business leaders
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills across technical and business domains

Key Deliverables:

  • Predictive and scenario modeling frameworks tied to market, customer, and operational dynamics
  • Competitive and customer-level intelligence dashboards integrating internal and external datasets
  • Quarterly market outlook and risk briefings for the Commercial and Strategy teams
  • Playbook for intelligence gathering, synthesis, and reporting across Lineage’s core markets
  • Data-driven opportunity identification reports highlighting strategic whitespace, risk exposure, and margin optimization potential

Critical Success Competencies:

  • Connects disparate data points—market, customer, operational, and environmental—into cohesive strategic insight.
  • Understands Lineage’s customer base, pricing mechanics, and differentiated value proposition.
  • Expert in advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and data visualization.
  • Anticipates market shifts and competitive behaviors to inform forward-looking strategy.
  • Translates complex analytics into narratives that drive action and alignment across the commercial organization.
  • Operates with precision, urgency, and accountability to deliver consistent, high-value output.
