About the Role:

As a Head of AI, you will set the long-term vision and direction for AI across the company, and will lead teams building machine learning applications and platform offerings to solve some of the toughest challenges in the financial services industry. Your work will directly impact machine learning and data science teams, as well as the customer experience and the profitability of our business. This is a dynamic role where you'll have the unique opportunity to take on strategic leadership across multiple domains, transform our usage of AI, and accelerate growth across the entire business. You'll report to VP, Engineering.

You Will:

  • Lead, grow, and coach multiple teams of platform engineers and machine learning engineers

  • Evolve Remitly’s vision for AI, including platform offerings across machine learning and data science

  • Partner with domain leaders to identify and scale new machine learning opportunities

  • Collaborate with teams to drive value from high-quality platform offerings

  • Develop, advocate for, and drive adoption of machine learning best practices

  • Build productive relationships with partner teams in data and analytics engineering

You Have:

  • 7+ years in leadership roles across machine learning and engineering

  • 15+ years of experience across machine learning and engineering

  • Experience with managing, growing, and coaching multiple teams of engineers and engineering leaders across career levels

  • Experience leading platform / infrastructure teams in the AI/ML space

  • Excellence in building productive relationships with customer teams and partner teams across disciplines including non-ML engineering, and product management

  • Excellence in defining and improving processes across teams

  • Strength in keeping teams directed at the most important customer and business challenges

  • A track record of successfully leading large-scale, long-term ML and engineering initiatives across several teams, including driving adoption of ML in new domains

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $232,000 - $290,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
