Summary
The Director of Life Safety Compliance (PRN) is a senior‑level consulting role responsible for leading Life Safety assessments, regulatory readiness, and compliance initiatives across healthcare facilities nationwide. This position evaluates risk, identifies regulatory gaps, and delivers structured corrective action strategies to ensure alignment with NFPA, CMS, The Joint Commission (TJC), and other accrediting bodies. This role is designed for a highly experienced healthcare compliance professional with deep expertise in Life Safety Code interpretation, survey readiness, and environment of care standards, working in a project‑based, travel‑intensive capacity.

What You’ll Do
- Conduct Life Safety assessments, mock surveys, and regulatory gap analyses
- Lead TJC, CMS, DNV readiness efforts and prepare teams for surveys
- Identify deficiencies and develop corrective action plans and compliance roadmaps
- Perform field verification surveys and support Life Safety documentation (SOC/PFI)
- Conduct ligature risk assessments in behavioral health environments
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 101, NFPA 99, and Environment of Care standards
- Partner with hospital leadership on risk mitigation and compliance strategy
- Deliver clear reports, executive summaries, and actionable recommendations

What We’re Looking For
- 7–10+ years of healthcare Life Safety or regulatory compliance experience
- Deep knowledge of NFPA 101, NFPA 99, CMS, and TJC standards
- Experience conducting mock surveys, Life Safety assessments, and gap analyses
- Strong understanding of Life Safety drawings, SOC, and PFI processes
- Ability to interpret codes and apply them in real‑world healthcare environments
- Executive‑level communication and stakeholder engagement ability
- Experience in behavioral health or ligature risk assessments (preferred)
- Professional certifications such as CHFM, CLSS‑HC, CHC, or similar (preferred)
Education & Certifications
- Degree in Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Safety, or related field required (MBA or similar preferred)
- CHFM, CLSS‑HC, CHC, or equivalent certifications
- Professional memberships (ASHE, NFPA, ACHE) a plus
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age to meet company driving and insurance eligibility requirements
- Valid driver's license required. Ability to obtain and maintain identification necessary for work-related travel is required
- Ability to travel up to 100% of the time
- Ability to work occasional overtime, nights, weekends, or modified schedules as business needs require
Compensation & Benefits Disclosure: The compensation range for this position is on a PRN basis at $250.00-$500.00 per day. This range represents REMEDI8's good-faith estimate of the compensation expected to be offered to a successful candidate at the time of hire. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, geographic location, market conditions, and business needs.
