How you can help make a better world of work

Culture Amp is seeking a Director, Legal to join our Legal team, reporting to our General Counsel. This is a senior, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of commercial and product legal work, spanning complex global deals, product collaboration, and mentoring a talented legal team. You'll bring deep commercial expertise and the strategic instincts to navigate M&A, enterprise transactions, and a fast-moving SaaS environment, all while helping the business grow responsibly and at pace.

This is a rare opportunity to operate with real breadth, working across commercial deals globally, partnering closely with Sales and Product, and shaping the legal capability of the team around you. Your involvement across the business isn't just encouraged, it's essential. You'll need to be comfortable working through complex problems, finding the best commercial outcome, and translating legal complexity into clear, actionable guidance for senior stakeholders.

You will
  • Lead and support complex commercial deals globally, including enterprise customer and vendor contracts, and M&A transactions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product team to provide legal guidance on product development, integrations, data governance, and new feature releases.
  • Work across both commercial and product legal matters, bringing a broad and pragmatic perspective to the business.
  • Mentor and develop other members of the Legal team, helping to build capability and raise the bar across the function.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Security, Marketing, and other business teams to provide clear, commercially-minded legal advice.
  • Monitor and advise on evolving legal and regulatory landscapes relevant to a global SaaS business, including privacy, data governance and AI.

You have

  • 10+ years post-qualification experience (PQE), with a strong foundation in commercial law.
  • A Bachelor of Laws or JD, and admission to practice in a relevant jurisdiction.
  • A strong commercial skillset, with demonstrated experience negotiating and closing complex B2B, enterprise, and technology contracts.
  • M&A experience, with the ability to manage legal aspects of transactions end-to-end.
  • Experience working in-house at a technology or SaaS company (highly regarded).
  • The ability to draft legal documents, policies, and strategies precisely and in plain language, and to communicate complex legal issues clearly to non-legal audiences.

You are

  • A confident, commercially-minded legal advisor who can balance risk with business pragmatism and find the best outcome for the business.
  • A practitioner with a high level of integrity and judgment, supported by strong communication and influencing skills.
  • A natural mentor and collaborator who invests in the growth of those around you and thrives in a cross-functional environment.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment, and skilled at knowing when to escalate.
