The Sony Pictures Entertainment Legal team is hiring a legal professional to join our corporate headquarters in Culver City, CA. This role will primarily support the Sony Pictures Consumer Products department reporting to the SVP, Business & Legal Affairs.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate and process a high volume of merchandising licensing agreements (and related agreements, correspondence, etc.)
- Track status of the agreements and all related matters.
- Research and analyze legal issues (including rights analysis, content clearance, labor, etc.)
- Management of antipiracy efforts (trademark protection, enforcement, C&Ds, etc.)
- General problem-solving on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
- Excellent drafting skills along with excellent judgment, prioritization and communication skills while interfacing with all levels of the company.
- 8+ years of contract administrator and/or paralegal experience in a top law firm and/or in a studio/in-house entertainment legal affairs group (and experience in consumer products licensing is strongly preferred).
- BA/BS required.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
