Position Overview:

Reporting into the Head of Human Resources, the Director of Learning and Development will play a critical role in shaping the learning strategy for the organization. You will lead the design, development, and execution of comprehensive training programs that enhance employee performance, support leadership development, and align with organizational goals. The successful candidate will be a leader focused on strategy, but also comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working with all levels of the organization. Your expertise in instructional design, talent development, performance management, and strategic learning will ensure that Emburse continues to invest in the growth and potential of our employees at all levels.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement a company-wide Learning and Development strategy that aligns with business objectives, employee needs, and industry best practices.

- Create and deliver high-impact learning programs that span technical, leadership, and soft skills development.

- Design, develop, and facilitate training programmes (in-person and digital) that enhance employee performance, engagement, and career progression.

- Develop a leadership and management training program focused on the critical changes in a leaders journey and provide the necessary guidance to make new leaders successful.

- Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and ensure that learning solutions are tailored to meet both individual and organizational objectives.

- Own the employee onboarding experience and ensure that newly hired Embursers are provided the necessary training, support, and information to make them feel connected to the organization and productive sooner.

- Responsibility for the learning management system and online courses.

- Own the annual performance management and talent assessment processes and ensure they are both effective at driving employee performance, accelerating growth, and identifying and remediating gaps.

- Build a multi-year plan that aligns with an overall HR framework that will be defined and adjusted based upon clear metrics and will improve employee engagement, reduce turnover, and improve manager and leadership quality.

- Collaborate with senior leadership and HR to create and promote a learning culture that drives employee engagement, retention, and success.

- Develop metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of learning initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with overall company performance.

- Partner with the VP of People Operations to manage and maintain the learning and development budget.

- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in learning and development, bringing innovative solutions to the organization.

- Foster a culture of continuous learning, encouraging employees to take ownership of their development and career growth.


Qualifications:

- A degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Learning and Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Proven experience designing and implementing successful learning programmes at scale in a corporate environment.

- Expertise in instructional design, adult learning theory, and various learning methodologies (e.g., blended learning, e-learning, classroom training).

- Strong project management and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technologies.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to measuring learning outcomes and impact.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
