Job Title: Director, R&D LBS CH Shanghai R&D

Purpose/Objective:
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the LBS CH China R&D organization, ensuring alignment with global and local business strategies. Drive innovation and product development to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.
Area of Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with VP/GM Site Leader to define and execute R&D strategy in China in alignment with global business objectives.
- Contribute to long-term technology roadmap and portfolio innovation initiatives.
Innovation Excellence
- Lead multidisciplinary R&D teams (mechanical, electronics, software, systems, and V&V) to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of new products and sustaining projects with high quality.
- Go beyond technical innovation and product development by directly linking innovation strategies to the company’s long-term business growth. Ensure that R&D innovation is deeply integrated with commercial objectives, transforming innovative outcomes into market advantages and sustainable business value.
- Drive compliance with regulatory standards, quality systems, and safety requirements across all R&D operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product management, program management, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to achieve KPIs including On-Time Delivery (OTD), cost optimization (PPV/VAVE), and product quality.
- Foster collaboration with global teams to leverage best practices and ensure technology integration.
Talent Development & Leadership
- Build and develop a high-performing R&D organization, nurturing technical and leadership capabilities.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) and create an engaging, innovative work culture.
Continuous Improvement
- Apply DBS (Danaher Business System) tools to drive process optimization and operational efficiency.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to complex technical and organizational challenges.
