Our people are united by a shared way of working: follow the science, challenge assumptions, act with urgency and hold ourselves to a high standard of rigor—all in service of patients.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in advancing Revolution Medicines’ commercialization strategy during a period of significant growth. We are seeking an experienced and highly collaborative Director, Launch Excellence to lead the planning, readiness, and execution of our global product launches.

This role sits within the Global Commercialization Effectiveness & Operations (CE&O) function and reports to the Executive Director, Global Commercialization Effectiveness. The Director, Launch Excellence will serve as the project-management lead for a launch, with accountability for driving the integrated launch plan from approximately 24 months prior to launch through six months following launch.

In close partnership with the launch’s Global Launch Strategy Team and cross-functional workstream leaders, you will create the structure, operating rhythm, and transparency needed to deliver a successful launch. You will also partner closely with the Commercial Project Management team to provide clear visibility into launch status, health, risks, dependencies, and key decisions, while ensuring effective coordination with broader disease-area priorities and plans.

Operating in a build-while-scaling environment, you will bring clarity, discipline, and momentum to a complex, high-stakes global launch. As the capability matures, this role may expand to include people leadership responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end project management for the global product launches, from approximately T-24 months through six months post-launch.
  • Facilitate the Global Launch Strategy Team, establishing clear governance, operating rhythms, decision-making forums, and accountability across launch workstreams.
  • Build, maintain, and drive execution against an integrated global launch plan that brings together Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Supply, Legal, Finance, Development, and regional stakeholders.
  • Define and manage launch milestones, critical paths, workstream deliverables, interdependencies, assumptions, risks, issues, and key decisions across the launch lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain launch-readiness assessments, dashboards, timelines, and executive-level reporting that provide transparent, actionable views of launch status and health.
  • Partner closely with the Commercial Project Managers to communicate launch progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions; align the launch plan with broader disease-area priorities; and drive timely resolution of cross-functional issues.
  • Facilitate launch-planning meetings, readiness reviews, and leadership forums, ensuring clear decisions, ownership, follow-through, and escalation when needed.
  • Proactively identify execution challenges and develop practical mitigation plans, including scenario planning for evolving market, regulatory, supply, or organizational conditions.
  • Coordinate with global and regional teams to ensure launch strategy is translated into aligned, executable regional and local plans.
  • Support transition from launch readiness into launch execution and the initial post-launch period, ensuring teams remain focused on critical priorities, emerging issues, and opportunities to optimize performance.
  • Partner with Project Management colleagues across Development, Medical, Commercial, and other functions to ensure aligned plans, handoffs, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to the development of launch-management capabilities, including tools, templates, governance models, best practices, and ways of working.

Who You Are

You are a seasoned project leader who thrives in complex, cross-functional environments and is energized by the challenge of delivering a successful global launch. You excel at creating structure and momentum amid ambiguity, bringing diverse teams together around a common plan, and maintaining focus on the decisions and actions that matter most.

You combine strong project-management and launch experience with sound judgment, exceptional organizational skills, and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach. You can influence without authority, communicate effectively with senior leaders and working teams, and translate a complex launch landscape into clear, actionable priorities.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or a related industry.

  • Significant experience leading complex, cross-functional projects, commercialization initiatives, or global product launches.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting launch planning, launch readiness, and launch execution within a global pharmaceutical or biotechnology organization.

  • Strong project-management skills, including integrated planning, critical-path management, dependency management, risk and issue management, governance, stakeholder leadership, and executive communication.

  • Experience working across global and regional operating models and coordinating geographically dispersed stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and teams across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Supply, Finance, Development, and other cross-functional areas.

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear launch-status updates, risk assessments, recommendations, and action plans.

  • Track record of thriving in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD, or equivalent).

  • Oncology or specialty-pharma commercialization experience.

  • Experience leading or supporting a global launch from pre-launch planning through early post-launch execution.

  • Experience supporting launches across multiple markets, regions, or indications.

  • Formal project-management training or certification, such as PMP.
