We are seeking a Director of Kaizen to lead and drive Lean transformation across our organization. This role is responsible for fostering a Kaizen culture, teaching and coaching problem-solving methodologies, and embedding operational excellence at all levels.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lean Transformation & Strategy Execution
  • Lead and sustain enterprise-wide Lean transformation, targeting waste elimination and productivity improvements
  • Align Lean initiatives with operational strategy, ensuring achievement of key performance metrics
  • Support strategy deployment, facilitating annual planning and action plan execution

  • Kaizen Program Leadership
  • Own and manage the Shingijutsu Kaizen program, ensuring full compliance with pre- and post-event deliverables
  • Maintain a 100% Kaizen event completion rate, ensuring all improvements are sustained
  • Oversee the employee suggestion process 

  • Operational Excellence & Autonomous Workflows
  • Implement fully operational autonomous workflows in office and field environments
  • Train leaders on Lean tools like takt time, andon escalation, and daily management
  • Digitize key processes, leveraging IT systems to enhance process efficiency

  • Employee Engagement & Leadership Development
  • Train and certify employees in Lean methodologies
  • Conduct Gemba walks and audits to ensure adherence to standard work.
  • Foster a culture where employees are engaged in Lean activities

  • Innovation & Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Implement new digital tools to improve visibility and automation.
  • Utilize Power BI and other analytics platforms to track and measure process improvements.
  • Benchmark against industry leaders, attending Lean conferences and sharing insights across teams.

What You Bring

  • Engineering degree, preferably Civil, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or Material Science
  • 10+ years of professional experience in construction or manufacturing preferably as an Industrial Engineer or in the continuous improvement function. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading a Lean implementation in a single large site or multi-site environment as well as deploying Lean in an office or business process environment
  • Lean Expertise: Proven track record of leading enterprise-wide Lean transformations, including Kaizen, A3 Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, and Hoshin Kanri.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align Lean initiatives with business objectives and drive measurable results.
  • Operational Excellence: Experience in implementing and sustaining autonomous workflows in both office and field environments.
  • Coaching & Leadership: Strong facilitator, able to train senior leaders and cross-functional teams on Lean methodologies.
  • Data & Tech Savvy: Skilled in process digitization, automation, and leveraging IT systems for continuous improvement.
  • Change Management: Adept at driving culture shifts and overcoming resistance to Lean adoption.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification
  • Experience implementing Shingijutsu Kaizen methodologies
  • Proficiency in digital process improvement tools (Power BI, automation software)
  • Experience in construction, real estate development, or manufacturing highly preferred
