POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of IT is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the IT strategy, with a focus on Help Desk, Applications Management, and IT Infrastructure. This leader will oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of robust technological systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and user satisfaction. They will drive compliance with industry standards, including ISO27001:2022, SOC 2, NIST 800-53, and NIST 800-82, to maintain security and operational excellence. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, they will align IT initiatives with organizational goals. Leading dedicated Help Desk and Infrastructure teams, they will foster innovation, skill development, and a high-performance culture, maintaining a resilient IT environment that exceeds industry benchmarks. 

Your Responsibilities Will Include 

  • Strategic IT Leadership: Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with organizational goals, driving efficiency and competitive advantage through technology implementations focused on Help Desk and IT Infrastructure Management. 
  • Help Desk Oversight: Manage the Help Desk team to ensure timely, effective resolution of user issues, optimizing service delivery and user satisfaction through clear processes and performance metrics. 
  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee and optimize IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, and storage systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability. 
  • Application Management: Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of critical business applications, ensuring seamless integration, performance, and alignment with organizational needs. 
  • Team Leadership: Direct and develop Help Desk and IT Infrastructure teams, fostering a high-performance culture. Set clear goals and KPIs aligned with the organization’s IT strategy. 
  • Budget and Resource Allocation: Manage the IT budget, prioritizing resources for Help Desk, Applications Management, and Infrastructure projects to maximize ROI. 
  • Security and Compliance: Implement IT security policies to protect data and assets, ensuring compliance with ISO27001:2022, NIST 800-82, SOC 2, and NIST 800-53. 
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate with vendors to secure software, hardware, and services that meet organizational needs at optimal terms. 
  • Innovation and Improvement: Stay updated on technology trends, integrating innovative solutions to enhance Help Desk and Infrastructure operations. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional leaders to align IT strategies with business objectives, delivering measurable results. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • 5–8 years of experience managing IT operations, specifically Help Desk, networking, and server environments, with a team of 5–10 people. 
  • Strong expertise in Azure cloud services, Microsoft 365, and Intune, including deployment and optimization. 
  • Proven leadership in managing and mentoring diverse IT teams to achieve organizational goals. 
  • Excellent people management skills, including performance management, conflict resolution, and team development. 
  • Ability to build strong cross-departmental relationships to align IT with business objectives. 
  • Experience managing IT budgets and resources effectively. 
  • Deep knowledge of IT security practices and compliance with ISO27001:2022, SOC 2, NIST 800-53, and NIST 800-82. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence stakeholders. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or MBA. 
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, CISSP). 
  • Proven success in developing IT strategies and delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget. 
  • Extensive vendor management experience, including contract negotiation. 
  • Experience leading IT transformations or large-scale infrastructure projects. 

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons.
