Role Overview
The IT Project Manager supports one or more technology projects and/or delivery teams, partnering with product, program and engineering/technology leaders to embed modern iterative delivery practices and principles into day-to-day work. Planning, tracking, and managing project and/or teamwork including dependencies, risks, releases and status updates. Accountable for assessing and determining project prioritization and ensuring project delivery. By modeling Fidelity leadership behaviors and adaptive ways of working, help evolve and sustain an innovative, collaborative culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Coordination:
Align project scope, objectives, and roadmaps with product, business, and technology strategy.
Incorporates business strategy and is responsible for the management of one or more complex projects including BU specific and cross-enterprise workstreams.
Partner with product, program, and technology leaders to create plans, identify risks and dependencies, and release schedules.
Maintain project documentation and ensure transparency through structured communication channels.
Execution & Delivery Management:
Lead and manage events to support backlog prioritization, planning, and execution across multiple projects or complex initiatives, including cross-BU workstreams.
Track and report delivery health to stakeholders using leading and lagging indicators.
Facilitate trade-off discussions using empirical delivery data to ensure milestone achievement.
Drive shared accountability for delivery against capacity, quality standards, and business value.
Identify, manage, and communicate risks and dependencies.
Coordinate internal and external communications and training plans to support project execution.
Continuous Improvement & Predictability:
Implement and refine delivery processes using data insights and historical trends to improve predictability and efficiency.
Optimize workflows and work sequencing for continuous delivery and reduced context switching.
Identify lifecycle-based strategy updates and improvement
Technology & Quality Oversight:
Motivate and guide teams with a clear vision and purpose, fostering ownership and accountability.
Support team formation, training, and continuous improvement through feedback and learning opportunities.
Team Leadership & Culture
Enforce engineering excellence by managing quality standards, technical debt, incidents, and change processes.
Accountable for effective and integrated release management, ensuring readiness across teams, and clear communication.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
8-10 years of experience in project or delivery management roles.
Experience supporting technology delivery teams in a large enterprise environment.

Project Planning & Roadmap Development – Ability to define scope, objectives, and timelines aligned with business goals.
Delivery Management – Expertise in managing schedules, resources, and budgets for complex projects.
Risk & Dependency Management – Skill in identifying risks, managing dependencies, and ensuring release readiness.
Data-Driven Process Improvement – Using metrics and trends to optimize delivery predictability and efficiency.
Stakeholder Communication & Influence – Providing transparency and aligning diverse stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring & KPI Management – Tracking delivery health and reporting progress against milestones.
Change Leadership & Adaptability – Driving adoption of modern delivery practices and fostering innovation.
Iterative Delivery Frameworks – Deep understanding of frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, SaFE, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Knowledge: Deep understanding of the phases from requirements to deployment, and the systematic implications of challenges across the lifecycle
