About the Role The IT Project Manager serves as a strategic bridge between the Information Technology department and the broader organization, ensuring that technology initiatives align with business objectives. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, conducting business analysis, producing clear and actionable reports, and supporting executive-level governance through the IT Steering Committee. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management
- Lead end-to-end project management for IT initiatives, from initiation from planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets; track milestones and manage risks and issues proactively.
- Apply established project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches) appropriate to each initiative.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams, assigning tasks and ensuring accountability for deliverables.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions to keep projects on time and within budget.
Business Analysis
- Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from stakeholders across departments to inform technology solutions.
- Conduct gap analyses, process mapping, and feasibility assessments to evaluate current-state versus desired-state operations.
- Translate complex business needs into clear functional and technical specifications for IT teams.
- Partner with business units to identify opportunities for process improvement through technology adoption.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and focus groups to elicit requirements and build stakeholder consensus.
- Validate that delivered solutions meet defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
IT Liaison & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the IT department and organizational business units, fostering strong working relationships.
- Facilitate clear and timely two-way communication to ensure that IT capabilities and constraints are well understood across the organization.
- Advocate for both IT and business perspectives in cross-functional discussions to ensure balanced, effective outcomes.
- Identify and manage stakeholder expectations, escalating issues and conflicts as appropriate.
- Promote IT awareness and digital literacy across the organization through regular engagement and communication.
IT Steering Committee Support
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, presentations, and briefing materials for IT Steering Committee meetings.
- Compile and analyze project portfolios, budget forecasts, risk registers, and strategic initiative updates for committee review.
- Coordinate meeting logistics, develop agendas, and document decisions, action items, and resolutions.
- Track and report on the implementation of committee directives and ensure accountability for follow-up actions.
- Support governance processes by maintaining transparency and consistency in reporting standards.
Power BI Report Authoring
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to stakeholders across the organization.
- Connect to and transform data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL databases, SharePoint, Excel, APIs) using Power Query and DAX.
- Build and manage semantic data models that support self-service reporting and consistent metric definitions across teams.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into intuitive, visually effective Power BI solutions.
- Publish and manage reports in Power BI Service, including configuring workspaces, access controls, scheduled refreshes, and row-level security.
- Establish and enforce report development standards, naming conventions, and version control practices to ensure consistency and maintainability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project management or a related role.
- Proven experience conducting business analysis and translating requirements into actionable project plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level documentation.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent (e.g., CAPM, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP), preferred.
- IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent, preferred.
- Experience supporting board-or committee-level governance processes, preferred.
- Familiarity with IT frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, or similar, preferred.
- Experience in government, healthcare, education, or other regulated environments, preferred.
