Why You Will Love this Job:
As the Director – IT, Portfolio and PMO Management, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic management of our IT portfolio and leading our Project Management Office (PMO), including leading and managing the C-Suite portfolio review every two months. You will play a critical role in aligning IT initiatives with business objectives, value delivery determination and validation, driving efficiency and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain the IT portfolio strategy aligned with business goals and objectives. Prioritize and oversee the execution of IT projects and initiatives based on strategic importance and resource availability. Establish and maintain processes for evaluating, selecting, and prioritizing projects within the portfolio.
· Lead financial planning activities for the portfolio, including plan development and variance analysis against plan, and conduct thorough reviews of capital and expense expenditures to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and budgetary controls.
· Oversee resource management by bridging the gap between resource demand for approved projects, available resources, and sourcing models, ensuring projects are staffed with the right talent and capabilities to achieve successful outcomes.
· Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and performance of the IT portfolio. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure alignment of IT initiatives with business needs.
· Define and implement project management methodologies, standards, and best practices to ensure consistent and successful project delivery. Establish and maintain project governance processes, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
· Develop and maintain project management tools, templates, and dashboards to support project planning, tracking, and reporting. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO, driving efficiencies and promoting innovation in project management practices.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including business leaders, IT teams, and external partners. Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve conflicts, address dependencies, and ensure successful project outcomes. Champion the value of the PMO and IT portfolio management, advocating for resource allocation and support for strategic initiatives.
· Identify and assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on project delivery. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies related to project management and IT governance. Monitor and report on compliance with project management processes, standards, and controls.
· Lead, manage, develop, and maintain engagement of the PMO talent: Business Analysts, Project Manager, Scrum Masters and Agile coach.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree and/or PMP, PgMP, or PMI-ACP certifications preferred.
· 7+ years of experience in IT portfolio management and project management leadership roles. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) and tools (e.g., JIRA, Smartsheets). Solid understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance requirements.
