About The Role

WEKA is seeking a Director of IT Operations to own the global systems and infrastructure that keep WEKA running — end-user platforms, endpoint fleet, lab infrastructure, and network connectivity. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will manage a distributed team of 6 spanning Campbell, Israel, Bangalore, and Argentina, and personally operate the stack. You will work in close partnership with dedicated Enterprise Applications, GenAI, and Security teams, serving as the operational IT layer that integrates, supports, and executes across all functions. The ideal candidate brings a strong bias toward automation, thrives in high-velocity environments, and is equally comfortable racking a server and presenting to the CFO.

Location: Campbell, CA — On-site 5 days/week (Flexible schedule).

Qualifications

Leadership & Business Operations: 10+ years in IT with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role scaling IT operations and managing distributed, cross-timezone teams. Proven ownership of IT operations budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement contracts (SaaS renewals, device fleet, network contracts).

Physical Lab Infrastructure: Direct experience with physical lab/co-location logistics, including hardware installation, component swaps (drives, NICs, GPUs, cables), server provisioning/reimaging (Linux and custom OS images), out-of-band management (IPMI/BMC/Redfish), and rapid resolution of lab outages.

Enterprise Platform & IAM Administration: Expert-level administration of Google Workspace (Vault, Gmail routing, Groups), GCP (IAM, service accounts), and Identity & Access Management operations (SSO, SAML, OIDC, SCIM provisioning, and MFA policies).

SaaS Stack Management: Advanced administration of Slack Enterprise Grid (multi-workspace governance, external channels), Zoom (Zoom Rooms A/V setup, AI Companion governance), and Atlassian Jira (Jira Service Management queues, SLAs, and automation rules), alongside maintaining Notion as an IT knowledge layer.

Mac-First Endpoint Management (MDM): Deep background in MDM architecture, zero-touch enrollment (ABM/ASM integration), configuration profiles (security baselines, full-disk encryption), compliance signaling for conditional access, and automated OS patch pipelines across Mac, Windows, and Linux fleets.

Core Networking & Security: Solid understanding of LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi fundamentals, VLAN segmentation, 802.1X certificate-based wireless, SASE/FWaaS VPN routing, and ISP circuit management.

Automation & Scripting: Strong scripting proficiency (Python, Bash, and/or Node.js) with a proven portfolio of replacing manual IT processes with automated pipelines.

Security & Compliance Enforcer: Experience implementing operational security standards (least-privilege access, data handoff logs) and collecting audit evidence for compliance programs like ISO 27001 and GDPR.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a pre-IPO or high-growth technology company.
  • HPC or high-speed storage lab experience: InfiniBand, 100/200/400GbE networking, NVMe storage.
  • Network certification: CCNP or equivalent.
  • Platform certifications preferred: Zoom Certified Expert (ZCE), Google Workspace Administrator, Slack Administrator, Jira Administrator, or equivalent credentials in Notion administration.
  • HRIS integration experience: downstream patterns with identity, collaboration, and directory systems.
  • IT analytics experience: license utilization dashboards or cross-system operational reporting.
  • Industry certifications: ITIL, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or identity platform administrator certification.
