Job Description:

The Director, IT Operations contributes to and influences strategic planning, vendor management, system design and implementation, and continuous improvement for IT infrastructure and DevOps. This position will serve as the sole owner of the Cambria Data Centers, and those spaces at Cambria’s sites that are designated for technology and communications. They will also oversee key technical disciplines within the Cambria IT Department in a manner that highlights attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and an awareness of how the team’s success in carrying out their mission impacts Cambria. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Allocate resources for infrastructure projects like server management, network operations, monitoring, and problem resolution.

  • Ensure data backup and restoration for both on-premises and cloud instances.

  • Implement Identity and Access Management strategy with IT and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Monitor and report on system configuration, capacity, availability, and performance against business standards.

  • Influence strategic planning, solution engineering, and investment forecasts for people, tools, and technology.

  • Conduct technology audits to maximize and optimize system uptime.

  • Manage on-call schedules, including after-hours support and maintenance.

  • Manage external vendors, focusing on telecommunications, hardware, software, and cloud providers.

  • Provide clear communication and leadership to team members, peers, and stakeholders, emphasizing strong interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, and time management skills.

  • Mentor the Infrastructure Team, acting as both a strategic adviser and an executor.

  • Continuously learn new technologies relevant to digital product deliverables at Cambria.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience managing data centers and cloud instances to consistently meet and exceed SLAs.

  • Strong experience with Cloud (AWS), network segmentation, firewalls, and network infrastructure.

  • Skilled in strategic vendor management (system, network, telecom, software, cloud) ensuring strong partnerships and cost-effective service delivery.

  • Demonstrated success hiring and mentoring System and Network Engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Experience managing WAN, Wireless, Firewall, VPN, Proxy, and Intrusion Prevention.

  • Proven experience leading and managing 24x7 enterprise technology operations support.

  • Experience overseeing web service development/deployment, especially microservices.

  • Strong proficiency in Enterprise-level Identity and Access Management (IAM).

  • Strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban); familiarity with ALM tools (Jira), collaboration software (Slack, G-Suite, Confluence) a plus.

  • Proven experience developing and executing AI adoption and strategy.

  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentation) for diverse audiences.

  • Highly proactive and self-motivated in technology evaluation, project delivery, requirements, process improvement, and anticipating future needs.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience: Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in technology leadership with 10+ years of Technology Infrastructure

Systems: Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, Slack, Zoom, DataDog, AWS
 

Additional Requirements:

Managerial Requirements: Manage a team consisting of 8 total employees.

Physical Requirements: Office position requiring telephone and computer use. Able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally / sparingly (office supplies, packages, samples). May need to bend, reach, walk, or stoop occasionally. Prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel Requirements: May be required to travel to other Cambria locations

Cambria’s starting salary range for this position is $160,000 - $208,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training.
