The Role

The Director, IT Finance – Global Technology will act a trusted Finance advisor to the Technology leaders and their teams. This person will lead a team that supports the Global Technology finance consolidation activities, and partner with peer Finance Directors to provide clear and actionable analysis for the monthly expense results, outlook, and budgets across the function and provide overall financial support to the segment. This person is responsible for keeping functional and business entity management well informed of issues and status. These updates will come in the shape of formal reviews with Technology leadership, Segment CFOs and Global Technology leadership on a recurring basis. Linking the various drivers of expenses across the numerous products, markets, and value chains and Business Units is key to succeeding in this role. This position will report to the AVP, Global Head of IT Finance.

In addition to supporting ongoing business activities, this position will play an integral role in supporting transformation activities within Technology and the FP&A team. The position will be the primary finance representative for projects and strategic initiatives impacting Global Technology like; Strategic Cost Management, Global Technology Value, and any other strategic initiatives/business cases.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Reporting: Coordinate, produce, and analyze monthly and quarterly consolidated Global Technology expense reports which meet the needs of various users and customers. This includes maintaining and updating reporting related processes to align with evolving internal and external practices. Work to continuously improve the quality of reporting to ensure compliance with financial, operational and regulatory requirements and ensure the integrity of the expense accounts. Prepare and present regular expense updates to Leadership Teams (monthly reporting package, forecast/budget and actual expense update presentations).

  • Strategic Planning & Forecasting: Lead the coordination, preparation, and consolidation of Global Technology annual expense budgets for inclusion in the annual planning process. This includes working with Planning Teams to influence the process, policy and systems which enables more transparent expense planning and attainment of efficiency improvements. Work to continuously improve processes to gain efficiency in production and enhance quality of information. Meet regularly with LT members and other key senior leaders in the Function to formulate and update assumptions.

  • Analysis: Perform key financial analysis for the Global and Segment CIOs on an ongoing basis. While involving many of the above items (budgeting, reporting, etc.) it also entails producing in-depth analyses/forecasting/recommendations for targeted expense items, cost benefit analyses, fixed/variable costing, vendor analysis, offshoring assessments, and staffing models. The role and the centralized expense management team should be a key business advisor to the Functional and Segment leaders.

  • Advisory: Act as business partner and finance advisor to Technology Leadership team. Point of contact to Global IT Strategy, Segment Finance and Global IT teams including financial analysis and advice for critical initiatives, analysis and management/board reporting.

  • Transformation – Work to continuously improve processes to gain efficiency in production, standardize and enhance quality of information. Support implementation of the Expense Finance in Transformation program for the IT Finance team.

Required Qualifications:

  • A comprehensive knowledge of financial, planning & analysis function and activities, with prior experience in FP&A consolidations and business partnering.

  • Prior knowledge of financial management for IT function, capitalization and project accounting and reporting, sound business practices and controls, and accounting/audit principles which apply to financial companies and the area of expense management.

  • Presence to independently deal with, support, and influence senior executives across the division and company.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to deliver presentations catered to different levels of leadership.

  • Ability to influence others in aligning to a new vision; motivate others to accept progress and change.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a demanding and result-oriented environment.

  • Financial modeling skills.

  • Team player, collaborative, self-starter, well-organized, innovative, and high level of initiative.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional designation (MBA/CPA) preferred with 10+ years of related experience.

  • Previous experience at the Director level preferred.

Salary range is expected to be between

$105,750.00 CAD - $190,350.00 CAD
