Your Role

The International Director will play a critical role O Positiv's international expansion planning, execution, and optimization. This role will be responsible for helping analyze potential new geographic market opportunities, developing and evaluating go-to-market approaches, coordinating internally and externally on key elements of the expansion, and evaluating how to drive rapid, sustainable, and profitable long term growth post-launch. The ideal candidate will have had experience launching and scaling US consumer products brands into other countries on multiple continents, have a proven track record of success, and have a multi-functional skill set. This person will be a strategic, structured thinker, analytical, detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, an effective communicator, and an exceptional cross-functional collaborator. This role reports directly to the VP of Strategy (ex-Bain) and will work cross-functionally with multiple teams.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Detailed new market research: Gather and analyze information on priority new markets to build detailed knowledge and insight on how the market operates and what the implications are for O Positiv
  • Go-to-market pathways: Help to develop potential market entry strategies and localized plans that set O Positiv up for a successful launch and scaling pathway in each country
  • Pre-launch preparation: Support the process of preparing to launch into these markets by coordinating extensively internally with the key business functions and externally with key advisors and service providers to ensure O Positiv is fully prepared
  • Launch process: Coordinate cross-functionally with key stakeholders involved in the actual launch process and project manage this end-to-end to ensure high quality, on time, successful launches in all markets
  • Post-launch optimization: Support the ongoing optimization within the new markets post-launch to ensure that the right resources, investment, support, and customization is taken to ensure long term rapid and profitable growth 
  • Reporting and analytics: Provide high quality reporting and analytics in collaboration with the Data & Analytics team on international performance metrics, identify impactful insights, convert these into material performance improvements and growth 
  • Relationship management: Develop strong collaborative relationships with all relevant stakeholders including O Positiv's Strategy, Amazon, Retail, Marketing, Legal, Operations, Finance, and Data Functions 

Qualifications and Skills

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • 6+ years of experience in management consulting or a large CPG company or a successful CPG startup
  • 2+ years of experience launching and scaling businesses in international markets strongly preferred
  • Experience working cross-functionally with stakeholders from multiple departments to plan, support, and scale new markets

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and achieve an ambitious vision
  • Structured and data-driven with ability to frame and solve complex problems individually and with others
  • Strategic thinker with eye for value, 80/20 approach, and ability to avoid off-strategy activities / efforts
  • Skilled at seeing the bigger picture and the short / long term implications of key decisions
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills that build strong and lasting relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple moving pieces – hard working, organized, and results-oriented individual
  • Highly trustworthy, honest, and ethical individual that thrives in building high trust supportive environments

Hours and Compensation

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Compensation: $165,000 - $200,000
  • Position based in our office in Santa Monica, Los Angeles County, CA (Mon-Thu in office and Fridays remote)
