About the role: 

Forter is looking for a Director of Engineering to lead our Intelligence Platform and internal AI transformation. As the Director of this group, you will drive the AI platform and adoption at Forter, and build the self-service analytics & ML platform which is a force multiplier to employees across the company.

AI and analytics are central to how Forter operates, across the entire organization. They power our decisions which are our business, and enable us to move fast and release features at a rapid pace, and provide the backdrop for much of the innovation currently occurring in the company.

What you will be doing:
  • Drive AI transformation inside Forter, designing the AI & agents platform that powers both internal and customer-facing solutions
  • Partner with leaders and teams across Forter to accelerate AI adoption & business impact
  • Lead and grow multiple engineering teams (~15 engineers), driving the vision and strategy for Forter’s internal analytics, ML, and AI infrastructure.
  • Build and evolve high-scale, self-service platforms for research environments, model training, evaluation, and experimentation
  • Mentor and empower engineering managers, senior engineers, and future leaders

  • Experienced in driving Engineering organization-wide adoption of internal platforms - able to create pull, build excitement, and ensure real, measurable usage.
  • Can think like a product leader - curious about users, sharp at prioritization, and focused on building platform capabilities that deliver real impact
  • Comfortable stepping in and directly managing top ICs in strategic areas (such as AI engineering) to maintain momentum, executive alignment, and high-impact delivery
  • A confident communicator who thrives in cross-company collaboration, presents comfortably to leadership, and knows how to influence, align, and move people
  • Experienced people manager with real exposure to data, ML, or AI work - comfortable leading teams at the intersection of these domains
  • Comfortable owning vendor relationships and budgets - evaluating tools, negotiating costs, and managing relationships
