Job Description
This position is hybrid and will be required to be in office two times per month for collaboration working sessions.
Job Summary:
The Director of Infrastructure Engineering will oversee an organization responsible for the identification and delivery of new technology solutions to meet the needs of Exeter, which includes servers, storage and data protection solutions as well as Cloud Technologies.
Job Duties:
- Define Infrastructure Engineering Strategy and Roadmap, including articulating the enterprise technology vision, capacity planning, conceptualizing and delivering alternative approaches and validating such approaches against requirements and assumptions.
- Guide and Direct teams managing servers, storage, Cloud governance and data protection.
- Review and advise on high-level design decisions to ensure proper integration of new solutions into the enterprise.
- Define and implement infrastructure strategies and capabilities within the Cloud.
- Create and present business cases to purchase new technologies and engage with new technology vendors.
- Work with teams and vendors to architect the deployment of new technology
- Ensures compliance with Exeter’s policies & procedures, safety, state and federal laws, regulations and standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
- College degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study
- Eight (8) plus years of related experience; three (3) plus years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of data center operations.
- Strong knowledge of system documentation techniques.
- Expertise leveraging virtual and/or cloud platforms in infrastructure solution design.
- Experience implementing IT Operations projects.
- Expertise designing and implementing highly available infrastructure including Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.
- Experience forming and controlling an information technology budget.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
