Position Summary (On-site Position Only)

The IT Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, security, operation, and continuous improvement of the organization's technology environment. This role oversees a team of IT professionals and serves as the primary technology leader for infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, cloud services, enterprise applications, and emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The IT Director develops and executes technology strategies that align with business objectives while ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational systems and data. This role requires strategic thinking and a hands-on approach of managing daily operations while driving innovation and digital transformation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Technology Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute the organization's IT strategic roadmap.
  • Align technology initiatives with organizational goals and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, security, and business outcomes.
  • Lead technology modernization efforts, including cloud adoption, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain IT policies, standards, and best practices.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Serve as the organization's cybersecurity leader.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity strategies, policies, incident response plans, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Oversee vulnerability management, threat detection, security monitoring, and remediation efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, security frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to protect organizational assets and sensitive information.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity awareness and training programs for employees.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance & Innovation

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to leverage AI technologies to improve productivity, efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Establish governance, security, and ethical guidelines for AI adoption and use.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to implement AI-driven solutions and automation initiatives.
  • Monitor emerging AI trends and assess organizational impact and opportunities.
  • Ensure responsible use of AI technologies while protecting data privacy and security.

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure.
  • Manage servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, cloud environments, and endpoint technologies.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, performance, and scalability of critical systems.
  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning efforts.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and technology procurement activities.

Network Management

  • Direct the administration and security of the organization's network infrastructure.
  • Oversee LAN, WAN, wireless, internet connectivity, firewalls, VPNs, and network monitoring solutions.
  • Ensure network performance, availability, and security.
  • Lead network architecture planning and capacity management initiatives.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of three IT professionals.
  • Establish performance expectations, goals, and professional development plans.
  • Foster a culture of customer service, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage workload prioritization and resource allocation across the IT function.
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and retention efforts as needed.

IT Operations & Service Delivery

  • Ensure effective delivery of IT support services across the organization.
  • Establish service levels and performance metrics to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee help desk operations, system maintenance, upgrades, and project implementation.
  • Develop and manage IT budgets and technology investments.
  • Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive IT experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of leadership or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience managing enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, and endpoint environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, virtualization technologies, and enterprise security solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience developing technology strategy and leading technology initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a technology-related field or business administration.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Security+, PMP, ITIL, Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
  • Experience implementing AI, automation, or machine learning initiatives.
  • Experience with security audits, compliance programs, and risk management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of zero-trust security architecture and cloud security best practices.

Work Environment

This position may require occasional after-hours support for critical system maintenance, security incidents, or business continuity events. The IT Director is expected to maintain a high level of responsiveness during emergencies and serve as the primary escalation point for significant technology issues.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20–25 pounds.
  • Occasional travel as required.

Skills Required
