Job Summary
White Cap is a leading construction distribution company dedicated to delivering transformational IT solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Director of Supply Chain to lead the development and implementation of technology solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain operations. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the technology roadmap for supply chain processes including demand planning / forecasting, procurement, inventory management, and logistics / transportation. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of both IT and supply chain dynamics.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Develop and Implement Technology Strategies: Design and execute technology strategies that align with the company's supply chain objectives and enhance operational efficiency. Being able to build relationships with supply chain business leadership is key.
- System Implementation: Lead the implementation / optimization of supply chain technology solutions, including inventory planning, warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS)…etc.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, ensuring the delivery of quality IT products and services.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze the performance of supply chain systems / data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to provide critical availability and stability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams for large, transformational projects including Operations, Category Management, Master Data Management, Data Services / Business Intelligence and IT Infrastructure.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals (employees and contractors), fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Provides tactical direction where required (ex. digging into project plans, reallocating resources as necessary).
- Financial Management: Conducts financial analyses to support strategic planning on system purchases, implementations, enhancements / upgrades focusing on business ROI.
Nature and Scope
- Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation.
- Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area.
- May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain technology, with at least 5 years in a leadership / managerial position.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., Oracle, GAINs, Softeon, Descartes) and data analysis tools.
This is a hybrid position based in our Field Support Center in Doraville, GA.
