Job Title: Director of Infection Control
Employment Type: Full Time, Exempt
Position Overview:
Designs, implements, and directs system wide programs for Infection Control, Supports the Mission of CHE Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.
Reports to: Reports to the Chief Clinical Officer, Holy Cross Health. Consults with a Physician Advisor to Infection Control and the VP, Medical Affairs..
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required (if applicable):
Valid Certification in Infection Control (required)
Active Nursing License (highly preferred)
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, epidemiology, public health, health care administration, lab technology or other related field with an appropriate license or certification. Current certification by the National Certification board of Infection Control Epidemiology. Masters preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and familiarity with healthcare systems and clinical practice settings acquired through five (5) years of clinical experience, three years in hospital epidemiology/infection control. 3 years of demonstrated Infection Control leadership experience required.
- Evidence of developing and implementing performance/quality improvement initiatives in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with all levels of personnel, the medical staff, community, and other health care organizations, as well as accrediting agencies, federal, state and local authorities. Must be able to lead through collaboration and influence.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrates a comprehension of medical and nursing education, patient care management, microbiology, pathology, immunology, epidemiology, public health systems, and medical or biostatistics.
- Demonstrates leadership ability in relating to hospital staff, senior management, medical staff (including medical staff leadership committees), and key mangers and staff in external review and support organizations.
- Must demonstrate software proficiency, with a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, graphics design, and at least one statistical or epidemiology (relational data base) software system.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language and communicate verbally, electronically, and in writing.
- Must have visual and auditory acuity and be able to coordinate eyes and hands quickly and accurately.

Rate of Pay: $57.68-$86.52
