The Role

What you will do:

Reporting to VP, Purchasing, Supply Management. and Facility Services, the Director, Indirect  Procurement is responsible to procure goods and services to ensure maximum cost effectiveness in a timely manner in accordance with purchasing by-laws, policies and procedures. Establish strong collaborative relationships with senior leaders in functional areas to align around category strategies, project requirements and scopes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business unit and functional area teams to develop the vendor portfolio strategy and be a trusted advisor and partner internally with executives by identifying and providing strategic recommendations to achieve savings targets.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives to optimize category spending and present updates, analysis, and recommendations to management.
  • Proactively work with stakeholders to understand business needs, business strategy, and pipeline of contract renewals to build an overall contract strategy (consolidate and reduce contracts where opportunity exists)
  • Provide strategic insights on transactional movements in annual spend associated with specified categories.
  • Create a high-performance environment and establish a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates team members

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field of study ( i.e. Supply Chain, Business, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years related experience in Procurement services including experience in procuring IT Hardware, Software and Services categories
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and information to develop useful insights and recommendations
  • Extensive strategic sourcing training and experience
  • Considerable negotiations and contracting training and experience including but not limited to creating RFP and RFQ’s
  • Inventory Management and Reporting skills (Microsoft Office)
