Position Summary
Orr Group is seeking a results-driven Human Resources professional to join our team, responsible for supporting the company’s growth through talent acquisition, management, and efficient administration of HR functions. The role will oversee the development of HR policies, ensure compliance with legal standards, and lead talent management initiatives to attract, develop, and retain top talent in alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Talent Development
- Identify staffing needs; develop and execute best practices for talent management
- Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and hiring decisions, ensuring alignment with the company’s budget and staffing requirements
- Organize effective onboarding processes for all new hires in collaboration with staff and leadership
- Manage performance management processes, including timely and constructive performance evaluations
- Develop and execute professional development programs, training, and certification initiatives to enhance employee skills and career growth
- Provide ongoing support and coaching to staff to improve performance and engagement
- Support the development and execution of initiatives that foster an inclusive organizational culture, ensuring alignment with company values
- Lead DEIB strategies and programs to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, creating a workplace that attracts, retains, and supports a diverse talent pool
HR Administration
- Administer or oversee the administration of Human Resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, adjusting policies and practices as necessary
- Monitor and analyze organizational trends using HR data and talent management systems to inform decision-making and improve HR processes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices, technologies, and regulatory changes, communicating necessary policy updates to leadership
- Collaborate with leadership to manage employee relations issues, including disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations, ensuring effective resolutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- At least five years of human resource management experience required
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP advantageous
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Strong focus on quality and teamwork
- Collaborative approach to strategy, problem-solving and leadership
- High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent time/project management and organization skills and the ability to remain flexible and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Analytical capability to evaluate information and make data-driven decisions
- Highly proficient in MS Office products and AI software such as ChatGPT, Co Pilot and more
- Flexibility to work long and varying hours (when needed) to meet fixed deadlines
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systems
Additional Information
This role is required to be onsite 3 days a week at either our NYC or DC offices.
Base salary starting at $100K annually + up to $25,000 bonus potential. We recognize the systemic inequities that shape our world, and we're committed to combating them.
