Make an impact that reaches far beyond HR.

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our work has a purpose: enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. Every day, our colleagues help advance science and solve some of the world’s most complex challenges—from protecting the environment and ensuring food safety to accelerating the development of life-changing therapies.

We’re looking for an accomplished HR Director who is energized by the opportunity to influence business strategy, shape organizations, and help leaders and teams perform at their best.

The Opportunity

As HR Director, you’ll be a trusted strategic partner to senior leadership, translating ambitious business priorities into people strategies that accelerate growth, strengthen organizational capability, and build an exceptional employee experience.

This is an opportunity for an HR leader who wants a seat at the table—and knows how to use it.

You’ll work across a dynamic, global organization where your perspective will help shape critical decisions around talent, leadership, organizational design, culture, and change. Using business insight, HR expertise, and data-driven thinking, you’ll identify what the organization needs today while helping prepare it for what comes next.

What You’ll Do

You’ll partner closely with senior leaders to:

  • Shape and execute people strategies that directly support business priorities and long-term growth.
  • Advise and coach senior leaders on complex organizational, talent, performance, and employee matters.
  • Lead organizational transformation, including change management, organizational design, and capability-building initiatives.
  • Build strong leadership pipelines through thoughtful talent planning, development, succession, and retention strategies.
  • Use data and insights to drive decisions, identifying workforce trends and opportunities to strengthen business performance.
  • Navigate a global matrixed environment, influencing across functions, geographies, and levels of leadership.
  • Champion an inclusive, high-performance culture grounded in Thermo Fisher Scientific’s 4i Values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
  • Connect the full power of HR across talent acquisition, total rewards, organizational development, employee relations, and other centers of expertise to deliver integrated solutions.
What Will Make You Successful

You bring a combination of business acumen, HR expertise, executive presence, and genuine curiosity about what makes organizations and people thrive.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive, comprehensive HR experience within large, multinational organizations, including demonstrated success as an HR business partner.
  • Proven ability to translate business strategies into practical, high-impact people and organizational solutions.
  • Experience building, developing, and leading teams within a global matrix environment.
  • Strong expertise across HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, total rewards, organizational development, talent management, and employee relations.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational design, transformation, and change management initiatives.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or PPI.
  • Advanced analytical, project management, and data interpretation capabilities.
  • Strong executive communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to connect people strategies to measurable business outcomes.
  • Expertise in contemporary HR practices and employment law.
  • High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge, advise, influence, and coach senior leaders.
  • PHR, SPHR, or other professional HR certification is desirable.
  • Ability to travel internationally approximately 25–30%, as needed.
