The OpportunityAs HR Director, you’ll be a trusted strategic partner to senior leadership, translating ambitious business priorities into people strategies that accelerate growth, strengthen organizational capability, and build an exceptional employee experience.

You’ll work across a dynamic, global organization where your perspective will help shape critical decisions around talent, leadership, organizational design, culture, and change. Using business insight, HR expertise, and data-driven thinking, you’ll identify what the organization needs today while helping prepare it for what comes next.
What You’ll DoYou’ll partner closely with senior leaders to:
- Shape and execute people strategies that directly support business priorities and long-term growth.
- Advise and coach senior leaders on complex organizational, talent, performance, and employee matters.
- Lead organizational transformation, including change management, organizational design, and capability-building initiatives.
- Build strong leadership pipelines through thoughtful talent planning, development, succession, and retention strategies.
- Use data and insights to drive decisions, identifying workforce trends and opportunities to strengthen business performance.
- Navigate a global matrixed environment, influencing across functions, geographies, and levels of leadership.
- Champion an inclusive, high-performance culture grounded in Thermo Fisher Scientific’s 4i Values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
- Connect the full power of HR across talent acquisition, total rewards, organizational development, employee relations, and other centers of expertise to deliver integrated solutions.
You bring a combination of business acumen, HR expertise, executive presence, and genuine curiosity about what makes organizations and people thrive.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive, comprehensive HR experience within large, multinational organizations, including demonstrated success as an HR business partner.
- Proven ability to translate business strategies into practical, high-impact people and organizational solutions.
- Experience building, developing, and leading teams within a global matrix environment.
- Strong expertise across HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, total rewards, organizational development, talent management, and employee relations.
- Demonstrated success leading organizational design, transformation, and change management initiatives.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or PPI.
- Advanced analytical, project management, and data interpretation capabilities.
- Strong executive communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
- The ability to connect people strategies to measurable business outcomes.
- Expertise in contemporary HR practices and employment law.
- High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge, advise, influence, and coach senior leaders.
- PHR, SPHR, or other professional HR certification is desirable.
- Ability to travel internationally approximately 25–30%, as needed.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $174,600.00–$232,800.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
