The Director of HR, Safety and Compliance is responsible for supervising and delivering the results required for safe and properly trained staff. The position reports to and works closely with the CEO in overseeing the documentation, and training programs. Complete the HR duties to ensure staff benefits are properly communicated and administered. The person appointed will be expected to maintain and improve the safety and quality of the facility by executing a predetermined plan. Excellent communication and active listening skills are needed in order to be able to coordinate strategy with the rest of the management team.

This position is primarily scheduled during 1st shift. This is a salaried position. This position has two direct reports, QA Compliance Manager and Information Systems Manager.


Essential Job Functions

  • Executive Oversight & Administration
    • Provide executive oversight to the QA Compliance Manager, ensuring the facility maintains continuous audit readiness for SQF, FDA, and ODA standards.
    • Oversee external IT/IS vendor relationships, manage the annual technology budget, and ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met for plant infrastructure.
  • Human Resources & Risk Management
    • Direct full-cycle HR operations, overseeing talent acquisition, onboarding, and employee retention strategies.
    • Oversee payroll execution and benefits administration, ensuring accurate processing of time/labor, deductions, and COBRA compliance.
    • Manage labor compliance and risk mitigation, acting as the primary representative for unemployment hearings, workers' compensation claims, and OSHA regulations (including the OSHA 300 log and Lead Safety Committee).
    • Drive organizational development by maintaining, auditing, and updating employee training programs and SOPs across the facility.

  • Proficient in operating a computer and associated applications (MS Office)

  • Ability to develop and explain detailed spreadsheets and present to staff
  • Ability to perform presentations, knowledgeably answer questions and provide timely follow up

  • As part of the Minerva Dairy Team, you will be expected to support the operations in food safety programs such as washing your hands, wearing clean uniforms, eating in designated areas, and arriving to work in good health and hygiene.

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on Management
