About the role:
The Director – Global HR Business Partner is a strategic leadership role, responsible for managing an employee base of approximately 300 across India and the APAC region. Working closely with the CHRO, this role plays a key part in shaping and executing the global people strategy in alignment with business objectives for over 500 employees. It involves direct partnership with leaders across US, Europe, APAC, Japan, and Costa Rica to drive core people processes and foster a strong, values-driven culture.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Strategic HR Business Partnering
· Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across global business units on a wide range of people priorities, including performance management, organizational design, and leadership development.
· Lead the employee relations management for India and APAC, ensuring compliance with local laws.
· Coach leaders to enhance cross-cultural effectiveness, navigate change, and strengthen leadership impact.
Talent Management & Organizational Development
· Partner with the CHRO to design and implement talent strategies that align with global business objectives.
· Foster a high-performance culture leveraging 9-box frameworks, scorecards, succession planning and individual development plans.
· Partner with functional enablement teams to identify and address capability-building opportunities.
· Identify organization-wide development needs, and design impactful learning solutions aligned with business priorities and cultural goals.
Transformation & Special Projects
· Drive and execute key transformation projects, including AI-enabled initiatives and organizational change programs.
· Ensure continuity of people processes during periods of strategic and leadership change, supporting business stability and operational consistency.
· Drive ongoing improvements and scalability of People processes to keep pace with changing Technology and Business landscape.
Cultural Ambassador
· Oversee the Mumbai office experience, including day-to-day employee engagement, leadership visibility.
· Serve as a cultural representative, helping to shape and sustain LRN’s values-driven environment.
· Represent People & Culture on the leadership team at Mumbai ccontributing to regional-level strategy
People Analytics
· Leverage HR data and analytics to enhance talent strategy, identify risks, and guide data-driven decision-making at the leadership level.
· Develop analytics and data-driven insights for board level reporting, providing a comprehensive view of the company’s talent landscape
Requirements
You should have:
· Minimum of 13 years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role managing HR for a large vertical or function.
· Proven success as a strategic HR business partner with regional and global exposure, particularly across India and APAC.
· Skilled in partnering with senior leadership to navigate complex talent challenges and people-related decisions.
· Demonstrated ability to lead transformation and change management initiatives aligned with business objectives.
· Strong track record in designing and implementing talent management strategies that support high-performance cultures.
· Expertise in handling employee relations ensuring compliance with local labor laws and minimizing organizational risk.
· Proficient in using HR analytics to drive insight-led strategies and deliver impactful programs in fast-paced environments.
· Experience in managing, mentoring, and enabling HR teams to achieve defined goals and outcomes.
· Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to collaborate across functions and influence without authority.
· A hands-on leader who is comfortable diving into operational details while also thinking strategically and influencing big-picture decisions in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.
