The Vanderbilt Health Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Director of Human Resources Operations. The Director of HR Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for delivering efficient, compliant, and employee-centric HR services across the organization. This role oversees one or more HR operational functions, ensuring high-quality service delivery and continuous process improvement. This role provides leadership to our HR Data Management Team and our Preboarding/Onboarding Team. The Director partners closely with HR Centers of Expertise (COEs), HR Business Partners, IT, and external vendors to drive operational excellence, optimize processes, and enhance the overall employee experience..

Role Accountabilities:
- Develops goals and objectives for HR Operations that align with the health system’s policies and goals.
- Analyzes long-range impact of decisions and plans for one or more HR functions.
- Ensures the most effective operations of the department through program development, process improvement, and coordination/integration of processes with other departments.
- Participates in HR and/or interdepartmental committees to address problems and facilitate information exchange about programs, problems, etc.
- Partner with HRIS and IT teams to improve data quality, reporting, and system functionality.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Analyzes and evaluates ongoing department data and analytics to identify areas where adjustments/improvements are needed.
- Act as a key liaison between HR Operations and broader business functions.
- Ensures that the service standards are met or exceeded by utilizing customer satisfaction, best practices, and market information to improve customer service and satisfaction.
- Ensures HR operations comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures and controls.
- Monitor and mitigate risks related to data security, privacy, and operational processes.
- Monitor onboarding effectiveness and employee feedback to drive improvements.
- Lead or support HR transformation initiatives as needed.
- An excellent understanding of Human Resources business processes and HR regulations.
- The ability to analyze data, recognize trends, and use data visualization tools to provide insights to senior leaders for decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Progressive HR operational leadership experience preferred.
- Experience leading pre-boarding and onboarding initiatives preferred.
- Experience providing strategic HR leadership to improve organizational efficiency is preferred.
- Experience with Workday HRIS is strongly preferred.
- Academic Medical Center experience preferred.
