We Are Looking to Add a Key Member to Our Human Resources Team!

The Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and leadership in designated business units or areas of the company. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit or business support area’s financial position, midrange plans, culture, and strategy.

As a Director, HR Business Partner, you will:

  • Serve as a key member of the HR Leadership Team, enabling the success of GreatAmerica through modern practices and approaches that attract, retain, develop, and care for talent throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Serves as a trusted resource to assigned Business Support functions, providing HR guidance and influence on business strategy as appropriate
  • Leads the enterprise-wide evolution, care, and management of GreatAmerica’s performance management systems and practices. Partners across the HR Team to ensure consistent application and practices are applied by peers and other members of the HR team  
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with Director, HR Operations & Total Rewards to develop solutions, programs, and policies that enhance effectiveness and strategic value of HR services
  • Recruit, lead, and continually develop team members that deliver high quality HR services to the organization
  • Responsible for helping business leaders align compensation decisions to the overall compensation philosophy for the company and desired impacts/results
  • Works closely with leaders and team members to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Support employee engagement activities, analyze data, and assist leaders in actioning results of periodic surveys. Coach and assist in the development of strategies to increase employee engagement and retention
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal and compliance teams as needed/required
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Provides HR policy and process guidance and interpretation
  • Partners on offers for new hires, promotions, and transfers. Partners with Talent Acquisition and leaders to understand needs and complete counsel on hiring decisions (HR Wrap Ups etc.)
  • Support or design culture stewardship activities as assigned (Recognition, culture boards etc.)
  • Provides guidance and input on Business Unit restructures, workforce planning, addressing surge event needs, succession planning and high potential management
  • Identifies training needs for area of responsibility and individual executive coaching needs. Partners with L&D and Organization Development to execute the organization’s leadership and learning strategy
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met and actively provides feedback to inform GreatAmerica’s learning strategy
  • Serve as a power user of our HR Technology Platforms
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

To be successful in the role you will need:

          

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field (or equivalent)

Experience

  • Demonstrated career progression in HR-related roles with at least five years of experience in a consultative HR role
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred
