Summary

The Director of Hospital Services oversees and develops programs relating to our hospital services and marketing plans in accordance with our strategic plan. This position is responsible for administration of Hospital Services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creates precise goals and objectives for hospital services staff in accordance with our strategic plan, AOPO standards, and CMS guidelines.
  • Establishes methods for documenting objectives and goals and ensures they are met.
  • Provides professional services and education for donation services to health care staff, including, but not limited to, Hospital Staff, Physicians, Physician Assistant staff, CRNP, Coroners, Medical Examiners, Forensic Pathologists, and Solicitors.
  • Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships with all levels of hospital personnel.
  • Ensures hospitals make timely referrals.
  • Acts as a resource for hospital personnel in the development and review of policies and procedures relating to donation.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of hospital operations through the use of death records and compliance reviews.
  • Utilizes the appropriate staff to identify developmental process needs.
  • Provides continuous communication between staff and hospital to identify and resolve problems.
  • Conducts, analyzes, and reports routine hospital medical record reviews.
  • Tracks and trends the referral process by ensuring case reviews which identify the consent process and barriers to donation are documented.
  • Observes donation recovery as often as necessary to maintain knowledge of the process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • BS degree required;
  • Five (5) years of critical care experience;
  • Five (5) years of experience in management;
  • Ability to utilize interpersonal communication skills to motivate individuals to ensure the option of organ and tissue donation to families is essential;
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data;
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Strong public/professional speaking skills;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with interoffice personnel, donor hospitals, hospital staff, donor families, and the public;
  • A work ethic exhibiting accuracy, integrity, and professionalism to include: prompt, reasonable, reliable, and sustainable attendance; or,
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills Required
