The Director, Government and External Affairs, Indonesia is responsible for leading Danaher’s government affairs strategy across all Danaher businesses operating in Indonesia. This role serves as the enterprise-level government and external affairs lead in-country, ensuring coordinated, compliant, and effective engagement with government stakeholders in support of Danaher’s growth, market access, and business continuity.

The Director focuses on developing and executing country‑level government affairs strategy, advising country and platform leaders, and aligning multiple operating companies under a unified “One Danaher” government engagement approach. The role operates within Indonesia, while aligning with regional and global governance, policies, and standards.

This position reports to the Regional President, DHR SEA ANZ and is part of Danaher Corporate role located in Indonesia and will be an on-site role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Enterprise Government Affairs Strategy

  • Develop and execute the enterprise government affairs strategy for Indonesia, aligned with Danaher’s business priorities and Indonesia’s national healthcare and industrial agendas.
  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret policy, regulatory, and political developments, assessing implications across all Danaher platforms and operating companies in-country.
  • Translate government developments into clear, enterprise‑level guidance and insights for country, platform, and regional leadership.

Government & External Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as Danaher’s primary enterprise representative to government stakeholders in Indonesia, including ministries, regulators, public sector institutions, and policy bodies.
  • Build and sustain senior‑level working relationships that support market access, public sector engagement, and long‑term partnership with government.
  • Represent Danaher in industry associations, chambers, and selected forums, advocating for policies that support diagnostics, life sciences, and healthcare innovation.

Commercial & Market Access Enablement (Enterprise View)

  • Partner with commercial, regulatory, legal, and compliance teams across OpCos to support public sector opportunities, including tenders, reimbursement frameworks, and government programs—while maintaining compliance boundaries.
  • Provide enterprise‑level government insight to support market access strategies, localization initiatives, and public‑private partnerships.
  • Anticipate and help mitigate government‑related risks that could affect revenue, operations, or reputation across Danaher businesses in Indonesia.

Cross‑OpCo Alignment & Matrix Leadership

  • Act as the enterprise integrator for government affairs across Danaher operating companies in Indonesia, ensuring consistent positioning, messages, and engagement standards.
  • Coordinate closely with regional and global government affairs, legal, regulatory, and compliance teams to ensure alignment with enterprise policies.
  • Influence and align leaders across platforms and functions in a highly matrixed, multi‑OpCo environment, without direct reporting line authority.

Advisory, Risk & Issue Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to country and platform leaders on government policy, stakeholder dynamics, and emerging issues.
  • Support issue and crisis management related to government, regulatory, or public policy matters impacting the enterprise in Indonesia.
  • Ensure all government engagement activities are conducted ethically, transparently, and in line with Danaher values and compliance requirements.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in public policy, law, political science, healthcare, or related field preferred.
  • 12-15 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory affairs, or external affairs, preferably within healthcare, life sciences, or diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with Indonesian government stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Strong understanding of Indonesia’s healthcare system, public procurement landscape, and policy environment.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, multi‑business unit organization.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel about 25% travel
