Job Description
The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Director, Global Sourcing to lead our team. The ideal candidate must be a leader capable of enhancing our procurement capabilities and driving operational excellence. This role requires in-depth knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality assurance, along with proven experience in managing cross-functional teams. A strategic vision focused on optimizing and streamlining operations is also essential.
The Director will be responsible for managing information related to the development of new styles, from concept to production, working closely with internal teams and external partners.
Responsabilities
- Develop and implement global sourcing strategies aligned with company objectives, focusing on risk reduction, margin improvement, and innovation.
- Manage relationships with external partners, overseeing key performance indicators such as IMU targets, volume, timelines, and supplier quality.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive decision-making processes and provide solutions to sourcing and production issues.
- Collaborate with design, development, and merchandising teams to ensure product feasibility, quality, and profitability.
- Oversee the development and selection of raw materials to meet price, aesthetic, and quality requirements.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality or delivery timelines.
- Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Ensure timely delivery and adherence to seasonal deadlines, addressing any production issues as they arise.
- Actively participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes related to global sourcing and supply chain management.
Qualifications
Qualifications and comptencies:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 10+ years minimum related experience in fashion apparel, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within the apparel industry
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multiple apparel teams. Strong skills in team building, conflict resolution, and motivation.
- Workflow management experience
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with data-driven decision-making and process optimization in apparel manufacturing.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and market trends.
- Collaborative management style
- Sensitivity to cultural differences
- Strong organizational skills
- High sense of urgency
- Delegation and excellent follow up skills
