Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As a Director of Product Management, you set global Product Line Management (PLM) strategies and lead a team who create long-range, profitable, seasonal assortments and line plans, across assigned product categories. You and your team create new ways of working across product lines and categories to deliver a unique commercialization experience. You translate our design vision into compelling, consumer-centric product framework plans, realized through product development and merchandising execution. You build bridges within your teams and cross-functionally to ensure global Go to Market (GTM) plans are realized, guiding the representation of our product experience through all channels.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet your future team:

The Product Line Management team is responsible for determining and delivering the right product, at the right place, at the right time. In partnership with the Merchant team, PLM delivers product lines that supports the overall Design creative direction, while driving company sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity goals, on a global scale. This high performing team works closely with the Design and Product Creation Development teams to bring the product vision to life through future seasonal line plans, and partners with the Costing and Sourcing teams on the upstream side of the product cycle.

If you were in the Product Director role now, here are some of the core activities you would be responsible for:

  • Developing and driving long term product strategies for all assigned categories and product areas, realizing the creative vision to bring line plans to market
  • Leading cross-functionally to stand up new ways of working with on and off-calendar categories, collaborations with senior leaders across the Commercial, Advanced Concepts, Creative, and Product Creation Development teams
  • Leading a PLM team to execute both in-season and towards future seasons, while developing a bench of talent for continued growth
  • Conducting global research to maintain expert knowledge of the market
  • Exploring new means of upcycling and building strategies to scale use of excess materials
  • Bringing our innovation engine in-line by building strategies to establish and trickle-down technology and finding opportunities to accelerate commercialization
  • Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Collaborating with leaders cross-functionally to build and test completely new product concepts in emerging market segments
  • Exploring new areas for product expansion in partnership with the Advanced Concepts Team, and working with Incubation teams to build the business case for category expansion
  • Working with broader Product Management team to scale cutting edge technologies by integrating into product roadmaps

Are you our next Product Director?

  • You have 10+ years’ experience in product management with product-led brands, and 5+ years’ experience leading a team
  • You are product-obsessed, with a drive for understanding the “why” behind new products, and an unparallel capacity for product knowledge
  • You have expertise in driving strategy, line planning and line architecture
  • You have a proven track record in developing and leading the execution of a multi-year business strategy
  • You are an influential leader; possessing high emotional intelligence, with the ability to drive alignment across diverse cross-functional groups at all levels of the business
  • You have proven people leadership skills and the ability to build, coach and guide a diverse and high performing team You demonstrate tireless integrity in driving excellence to milestones and deliverables

  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions, driving organizational excellence through continuous communication
