We are looking for a Director Global Planning & Logistics to join our global Supply Chain team.

The role is based in Baar, Switzerland and requires frequent travelling.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Director Global Planning & Logistics will lead and elevate our end-to-end planning capabilities across the organization, while ensuring operational excellence in logistics execution.

This role will focus primarily on building, standardizing and enhancing our S&OP, production, supply and demand planning processes, including the implementation and optimization of advanced planning tools.

Additionally, the role will oversee group logistics activities, including 3PL management, cost management and leadership of the broader logistics team for the group. Additionally, the role will provide functional leadership during key company projects like acquisitions or “Go Direct” initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strategic planning expertise with hands-on operational leadership experience - ideally in an FMCG environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning

S&OP & Integrated Business Planning

  • Own and continuously improve the global Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process (DCMs, Executive S&OP)
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment between Sales, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain
  • Drive transparency on service, capacity and inventory trade-offs and elevate the S&OP process towards integrated business planning maturity

Production & Supply Planning

  • Develop and lead the global supply planning strategy to ensure uninterrupted product availability
  • Lead production and material planning processes across plants and copackers
  • Ensure alignment between demand plans and manufacturing capacity and coordinate capacity balancing between manufacturing sites

Demand Planning

  • Empower commercial teams on efficient usage of forecasting tool
  • Improve forecast accuracy and bias management in collaboration with commercial teams

Planning Systems & Tools

  • Lead the review, selection and implementation of advanced planning tools
  • Drive standardization and automation of planning processes, ensuring successful change management and adoption across regions
  • Maintain and continuously improve planning KPIs and dashboards and collaborate closely with IT on system-related initiatives

Logistics

Operational Logistics Leadership

  • Lead and develop logistics teams, including indirect development of blue-collar workforce
  • Oversee stock counts, invoice approval governance and compliance processes to ensure operational excellence in warehousing & distribution

Logistics & Distribution Leadership

  • Own group logistics cost transparency and reporting and lead monthly logistics accrual reviews with key markets
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives to reduce cost, improve speed, and ensure product quality and compliance.

3PL & Tender Management

  • Lead and support group 3PL tenders and contracts across markets and ensure performance management
  • Align logistics footprint with supply network strategy

Customs Management

  • Maintain general oversight on customs management across all locations of the group, including outsourced customs partners
  • Intervene and manage escalations and customs related issues

People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planning and logistics professionals including frontline leaders and supervisors across different countries

PROFILE

Experience

  • 15+ years of global supply chain leadership experience in FMCG or beverage manufacturing
  • Proven leadership in production and material planning, supply planning and demand planning
  • Direct experience introducing or upgrading planning systems/tools
  • Good knowledge and understanding of SAP
  • Demonstrated experience in capacity planning across multiple sites as well as experience managing 3PL providers and logistics cost structures
  • Strong people leadership with the ability to manage both planners and operational teams – from senior managers to operators across different countries
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and operationally grounded leadership style
  • Strong change management capabilities as well as ability to influence at executive level

  • Strong analytical thinking and financial acumen
  • Structured, data-driven decision making
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • High resilience and ability to manage complexity in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent English required; additional European language is a plus. Fluency in German is highly preferred but not a requirement

Skills Required
