Job Description
INTRODUCTION:
The Commerce and Payments Team sits within the Product organization and is a key component of ABC’s success. The team is responsible for driving new partner implementations and programs and ensuring the efficiency and reliability of new and existing partners. We sit at the intersection of product and financial partners, serving as the connection that ensures close and smooth collaboration between these parties, both of which are crucial to ABC’s continued rapid growth. We wear a lot of hats. On any given day, you can find us, for example, driving alignment, coordination, and execution between cross-functional teams and partners on critical operational activities; identifying and investigating insights and trends from our data to inform decisions for streamlining the day-to-day management of our business; negotiating deals and contracts with payment partners and networks, and building new tools and processes to scale our team’s impact.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
We are looking for a Director, Global Payment Partnerships to join our team, and manage partnerships as well as drive strategic initiatives. You’ll interact with partners directly and mutually drive efforts to expand into new markets, build products, improve operations, drive strategic initiatives procedures, and use metrics to track performance. The role will require close coordination with product and engineering teams, as well as cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, Finance, Risk, etc., and with external partners’ senior executives.
- Build and own the global partner strategy and relationships with strategic ABC partners (payment processors, networks, banks, and technology partners such as Stripe, Worldpay, and Visa)
- Work cross-functionally with a number of ABC teams – including Engineering, Product, Sales, Finance, Operations, Treasury, Legal and others – to negotiate contracts and pricing, build integrations, products, support deals, and drive process enhancements
- Define SLAs and performance standards for our partners and drive efforts to implement and track commitments
- Manage monthly and quarterly business reviews with partners
- Identify capabilities and needs for ABC’s top markets and identify the partners to provide the necessary payment processing coverage to support our market expansion, new programs and solutions (including defining payment methods, technical and operational requirements) to address them
- Develop and manage end-to-end project plans for new implementations, working closely with other stakeholders and partners to ensure on-time delivery
- Negotiate pricing and contractual agreements and continue to analyze processing fees and charges to optimize costs to ensure ABC remains competitive
- Identify, scope, and drive process improvements across your area(s) of ownership
- Assist with incident resolution when needed, working closely with Engineering, Operations, Customer Success teams to drive partner communications and escalations
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 15+ years of payments partnerships/program management and/or business operations experience
- 5+ years of managerial people leadership experience
- Proven ability to successfully drive medium-to-large sized technical projects with external partners and cross-functional internal stakeholders
- An understanding of product strategy and key requirements for scaling products and operations through partnerships, with a “customer first” mentality
- The ability to prioritize and remain focused under pressure, and comfortable with ambiguity
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience managing large, complex external relationships
- Strong analytical skills with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Experience in a high growth technology company, payment processing and/or software-as-a-service industries
- Experience executing industry-wide partnership strategies to build
innovative product experiences and go to market models
- Strong negotiation skills with experience independently leading
negotiations

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only and based on employees in the United States and may be different in other countries. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and location, as well as market and business considerations. Our pay range for U.S. based candidates for this position is $105,000-- $149,000 USD annually. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and commissions.

Our pay range for Canada based candidates for this position is $120,000-- $140,000 CAD annually.
