Position Summary
The Director, Global Commissions is responsible for leading the strategy, governance, administration, and continuous improvement of global sales commission programs. This role owns the end-to-end commissions lifecycle, including plan implementation in CaptivateIQ, calculation validation, payout operations, dispute resolution, controls, analytics, and payroll-ready output across regions.
As a strategic and execution-focused leader, you will partner closely with Sales Strategy, Sales Operations, Finance, Payroll, HR, and Business Systems to translate compensation plans into scalable system logic, strengthen data integrity across Salesforce and downstream systems, and build an auditable, high-performing commissions operation that scales with the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end administration of global commission programs, including monthly, quarterly, and annual payout cycles.
- Own CaptivateIQ configuration, plan implementation, calculation logic, statement design, and ongoing system optimization.
- Partner with Sales Strategy and Sales Operations to operationalize compensation plans, quotas, hierarchies, credits, and exception policies.
- Oversee data integrity and reconciliation across Salesforce, CaptivateIQ, payroll, finance, and reporting systems.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant commission payouts, including approvals, adjustments, and payroll file submission.
- Design and maintain controls, audit trails, documentation, and governance processes to support internal and external review.
- Lead commission inquiries and dispute resolution processes, driving transparency, service levels, and continuous improvement.
- Build reporting and analytics on payouts, attainment, commission expense, trends, and operational performance.
- Lead and develop the global commissions team while driving automation, process improvement, and scalable operating practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in sales compensation, commissions, finance operations, revenue operations, or related roles, including leadership experience.
- Deep hands-on experience with CaptivateIQ, including plan setup, calculations, workflows, statements, and payout processes.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce data structures, sales crediting, hierarchy management, and commission-related data governance.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Payroll, HR, Sales Strategy, Sales Operations, and Business Systems in a global environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills with the ability to manage large data sets and complex commission logic.
- Experience improving commission controls, audit readiness, documentation, and process automation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive alignment and execution across teams.
