Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Director, Global Brand Management - Veilance, you are the creator and owner of annual and seasonal brand strategies for the Veilance product line. You edit and defend of our brand and activity positioning and integrate functional strategic plans to bring our product innovations to life, with an industry-defining uniqueness and clarity. Part visionary, part integrator, and part operator, you and your team drive strategy and integration across the global functional teams (Product Design, Merchandising, Regional Marketing, Brand Creative, Brand Communications, and Brand Integration) to build and execute world-class brand and campaign strategies that drive Veilance awareness and consumer engagement across regions and channels.
 
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid working. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Veilance team is comprised of innovative problem solvers who thrive on collaborative teamwork. Fueled by curiosity, we take an immersive approach to identifying future needs in city environments, then build, test, and validate high-end product solutions. The Brand Marketing team is the direct connection between the guest and the Arc’teryx brand, through content and experience. We work in lockstep with our Regional Brand, Creative, Communications, Community, and Operational Teams, as well as our partners and agencies to create experiences and tell stories that are relevant, thought-provoking and true to who we are. 

If you were in the Director, Global Brand Management - Veilance role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Creating, integrating and driving brand and business growth objectives across a diverse team of strategists, brand managers and business units  
  • Overseeing, advocating for and allocating marketing expenditure and partnership opportunities across Veilance brand management initiatives 
  • Working with our Brand Intelligence team to establish budgets, performance metrics and KPIs at a seasonal and campaign level to gauge the impact of brand initiatives, and continually refine strategies based on data-driven insights 
  • Managing, building, and coaching a high-performance team to deliver on global brand strategies and calendar milestones 
  • Attending and leading global reports and share-outs quarterly, and other leadership meetings as required 
  • Fostering close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product Design, Merchandising, and Commercial, leveraging cross-functional strategies as possible 
  • Leveraging consumer and guest insights, market trends, and competitive analysis to inform and drive strategic decisions 
  • Using your voice as a leader to directly drive and influence the creation of globally resonant and innovative brand campaigns to amplify Veilance presence across all channels 
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external partners, agencies, and stakeholders to maximize collaboration and influence 
  • Maintaining close partnership with our regional brand leaders to drive consistent seasonal strategies globally 
  • Leading key cross-functional and global integrated meetings and presenting strategy and product stories to excite and inspire stakeholders in the business

Are you our next Director, Global Brand Management - Veilance?

  •  You have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications or a related field 
  • You have 10+ years’ experience leading strategic and integrated functions for an apparel brand and you are connected to the culture of technical apparel 
  • You authentically understand the Veilance line, and you are acutely aware of the lifestyle, fashion and energy industry 
  • You have extensive and direct experience working successfully in a nuanced, matrixed organization, with a keen understanding of key market needs and differences across North America, EMEA, and Asia 
  • You have a ‘Yes, And’ mentality, an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoy collaborating to build new strategies and processes 
  • You’ve built a successful career through collaboration and sharing inspiring ideas that have led to significant and successful campaigns in the outdoor/fashion industry (both vertical and wholesale) 
  • You have a proven track record in developing and leading the execution of annual seasonal brand strategies  
  • You have strong business acumen with the ability to lead in a complex matrix business environment  
  • You have proven people leadership skills and the ability to build, coach and guide a diverse and high performing team  
  • You have strong influential leadership, with the ability to drive alignment across diverse cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the business 
  • You can execute on a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives 
  • You understand the retail and digital landscape including the latest trends and innovations 
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions through your growth mindset 
  • You seek the best (not necessarily the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right 
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and strive for continuous improvement 
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
