Position Summary: 

The Director of Front Office provides strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for all front office functions across the organization, including Patient Access, Financial Clearance, and clinic-based administrative services. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, staff engagement, and a seamless patient experience across multiple clinics and service lines. 

The Director partners closely with executive leadership, clinical and operational departments, and external stakeholders to align front-end revenue cycle and administrative operations with organizational goals. This role ensures efficient, coordinated, and patient-centered front office workflows while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and service excellence.

The posted range represents the full hiring range. Offers will not exceed this range, the majority of candidates are placed near the midpoint based on experience and qualifications. 

Job Duties & Functions: 

  • Serves as the Departmental Leader 

    • Provide leadership and direction for Patient Access, front office operations, and administrative functions across multiple clinics. 
    • Develop, implement, and monitor strategic goals, objectives, and performance metrics aligned with organizational priorities. 
    • Oversee programs including scheduling, registration, insurance verification, authorization, and financial clearance. 
    • Lead system-wide process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, patient experience, and operational effectiveness. 
    • Ensure consistency, standardization, and optimization of front office workflows across all locations. 

    Financial Management 

    • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets; monitor financial performance and ensure fiscal accountability. 
    • Optimize front-end revenue cycle performance, including financial clearance, denial prevention, and insurance processes. 
    • Analyze financial and operational data to inform staffing models, resource allocation, and business planning. 
    • Drive initiatives that improve revenue capture, reduce denials, and enhance financial outcomes. 

    Administrative Leader 

    • Oversee administrative operations supporting clinic workflows, documentation, reporting, and communications. 
    • Ensure effective coordination of multi-site operations and administrative services. 
    • Lead and support special projects, program implementations, and cross-functional initiatives. 
    • Establish and maintain data collection, reporting systems, and performance dashboards. 
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in scheduling systems and front office technologies, partnering with IT on enhancements. 
    • Hire, develop, and lead front office leadership staff, including managers and supervisors. 
    • Provide coaching, performance management, and leadership development opportunities. 
    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and trauma-informed work environment that supports staff engagement and wellbeing. 
    • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and workforce planning aligned with patient volumes and organizational needs. 

    Critical Interfaces 

    • Partner with Finance, Clinical Operations, Quality, Risk Management, and Information Systems to ensure integrated operations. 
    • Act as liaison between leadership, program managers, and front office teams. 
    • Participate in internal and external committees, representing the front office function. 
    • Collaborate with community stakeholders and external partners as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications: 

EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a business, healthcare administration or related major.  
  • Master’s degree (preferred) 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or related field 
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership/management experience 
  • Experience in front-end revenue cycle operations strongly (preferred) 

Shift/Hours: This is a Monday-Friday opportunity observing standard business hours.

Physical Requirements: This position involves sedentary work, requiring extended periods of sitting, computer use, and participation in meetings both in-person and virtual. Occasional physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, and reaching is expected, along with occasional lifting of up to 20-30 pounds. The role demands frequent use of phones and standard office equipment. Strong cognitive abilities are essential, including analytical thinking, strategic decision-making, and the capacity to manage complex issues under pressure.
