Summary

The Director of FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) will play a critical leadership role in managing the analysis of the company’s operational and financial performance while influencing the decision making process for all business leaders. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of business processes. The successful candidate will work closely with the FP&A team, operations, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic initiatives that drive the company's growth and success. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the FP&A analysts that directly and locally support operations
  • Develop detailed financial and analytical tools to assess financial and operational performance, effectively incorporating feedback from the departments and communicating the results to enact positive change.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, driver-based financial model to support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting throughout the fiscal year
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to senior management.
  • Develop the business process and work with department heads to create forwarding thinking annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis and scenario planning to assess the potential impact of changes in market conditions or business strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of business strategies that align with the company's long-term objectives.
  • Responsible for collaborating with operations and accounting to ensure operational transactions are accounting for correctly
  • Manage and influence the flow of accurate and insightful data via PowerBI and IFS across the organization
  • Assist in continuing build out of new Power Segment in IFS
  • Create ad-hoc reports and analysis in conjunction with the IT department that will assist department heads making informed decisions on an ongoing basis.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Completion of commercial bank or investment banking analyst training program preferred.

Work Experience

  • Proven experience as an FP&A leader, managing employees while driving collaboration and operational growth.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with operations to enhance profitability and performance.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership skills to effectively lead a new team, instill a strong culture, and embrace business evolution
  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in analyzing complex datasets and developing complex financial models.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present financial information to senior management and board of directors.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerBI)
  • Experience in the energy industry, specifically in gas compression or related fields, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

Physical Demands

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components.
  • 25 - 40% travel required.
