POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis is a critical, high-impact role requiring exceptional financial insight, management skills, and the ability to conduct thorough decision support analysis. This individual will play a pivotal role in influencing strategic business decisions and must be adept at multi-tasking in a dynamic environment. As a key strategic leader, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will have significant visibility and influence with senior leaders across the organization.
Reporting directly to and supporting the Executive Director, this position is responsible for creating detailed financial models, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning, to facilitate informed decision-making. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with personnel at all levels of the organization, providing coaching and guidance to drive profitability and growth.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience; ideally a combination of public accounting and industry experience.
- Strong time-management skills and an ability to organize and coordinate multiple concurrent projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with a heavy emphasis on EXCEL
- Flexible team player, willing to adapt to changes and unafraid of challenges.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information related to the company and its Team Members.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Modeling and Analysis
- Develop and manage detailed financial models to support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate potential financial outcomes.
- Provide insights into key business drivers and performance metrics.
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports for senior management.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance to produce Cash Flow Analysis reports.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in the annual budgeting process with the Executive Director and senior management team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Prepare regular financial forecasts, updating them based on the latest business trends and information.
- Analyze variances between actual results and budgeted/forecast figures, providing explanations and recommendations for corrective action.
Strategic Planning and Development
- Support long-range strategic planning efforts, including the development of financial plans and projects.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement financial and business strategies that drive growth and profitability.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings.
Business Partnership
- Act as a strategic partner to the Executive Director and department heads, providing financial guidance and support.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive financial performance and achieve business objectives.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, enhancing their financial acumen and decision-making capabilities.
Meeting Facilitation and Leadership
- Organize and conduct revenue meetings to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to support marketing initiatives.
Performance Management
- Develop and implement performance metrics to monitor and improve financial performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans.
- Support the development and execution of operational initiatives to enhance business performance.
- Utilize our Entegra buying and purchasing platform. Deep dive into the properties usage of the system. Analysis of cost savings, review of data, and be a relationship manager/liaison between the properties and Entegra.
Risk Management
- Identify and assess financial risks, developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation across the organization.
- Demonstrate ethical leadership and commitment to the company’s values and mission, inspiring others to do the same.
- Stay current with industry trends and developments, incorporating relevant insights into financial strategies.
