The Director Financial Planning & Analysis leads enterprise financial planning, forecasting, and performance management, driving financial insights and strategies that support operational and strategic decision-making. This role partners across the organization to evaluate business performance, assess financial risks, and align financial plans with corporate objectives. The Director is accountable for the development and execution of the corporate annual operating plan and long-term financial plan, including delivering insights and performance updates to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.

What you will do

  • Leads the preparation of company-wide strategic financial plans and annual operating plans with accountability for integrity and timely communication of such plans and the financial performance towards such plans, including key risks and opportunities, to the executive team and Board of Directors. 

  • Develops targeted financial objectives for, and oversees the financial performance of, different business units included in annual operating plans including achievement of targeted operations and maintenance expenses. 

  • Oversees and drives periodic reporting to business units on their progress toward financial objectives and makes business recommendations to executive leadership to improve the overall financial results of the company. 

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge of company activities to ensure accurate and timely financial and regulatory projections 

  • Leads the development and execution of financial regulatory strategy in partnership with regulatory and strategy teams.

  • Oversees strategic financial support for regulatory projects and rate case filings.

  • Leads the development of forecasts for electric and gas sales and fuel-related costs supporting strategic and operating plans and regulatory filings, and provides insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.

  • Leads and directs special projects including financial analysis of key strategic projects across cross-functional teams to obtain timely and sustainable results. 

  • Identifies and improves forecasting processes, leveraging benchmarking and performance metrics to drive efficiency and cost improvement.  

  • Engages in other duties as needed that support our Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build strong communities.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Emphasis in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Financial Management, or related field. | Preferred

  • Master's Degree | Preferred

Required Experience

  • 10 years of technical and/or professional experience. | Required

  • 6 years of progressively more responsible supervisory experience. | Required

  • Financial management and business experience with emphasis on maximizing results. | Required

  • Utility or regulatory industry experience. | Required

  • Profit and loss experience. | Required

Other Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license. | Required

  • Financial Management or capital-intensive industry experience. | Preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to develop short- and long-term strategic plans and translate those plans into action. | Required

  • Demonstrated ability to represent the company in the regulatory and public arena.| Required

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage advanced analytics, data-driven insights, and emerging technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence) to enhance financial forecasting, decision-making, and business performance. | Required

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with regulators, industry stakeholders, and external partners. | Required
