Job Summary
The Director of Financial Operations leads the AP department to ensure the seamless execution of financial operations, timely payments, and the maintenance of accurate financial records. This role is vital in managing the company’s cash flow, mitigating financial risks, and developing strategies to optimize payment processes. The ideal candidate will mentor a high-performing team, streamline workflows through automation, and foster strong relationships with vendors and internal departments.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire accounts payable process, ensuring all transactions are accurate, authorized, and paid on time.
- Manage the department, including recruiting & retention of staff. Continuously assess and design the organizational chart to handle high transaction volumes, ensuring the right resources are allocated to support business growth efficiently.
- Design, implement, and enforce the financial and operational controls necessary to protect company assets, ensure accounting accuracy, and prevent fraud. This includes meeting SOX level documentation and audit.
- Develop, measure and report on KPIs relevant to the accounts payable team and the broader organization.
- Continuous improvement of workflow and processes, including automation and other uses of technology.
- Manage administrative policies and procedures including development and updating of administrative SOP documents, the application and implementation of new accounting processes and techniques.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required for the Job
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in a management level role
- Business Degree with a focus in Accounting or finance
- Completion of a professional accounting designation or equivalent post-secondary education
- Extensive experience collaborating with stakeholders on multiple cross functional projects
- Extensive experience building teams and facilitating growth and development of team members

Compensation Details:
$140,000 - $170,000 / Year
Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.
Supplemental Pay:
This position may also be eligible for Bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives
