Job Description

About the Role:

The Director leads the Finance Data and Transformation team, which serves as the primary liaison between Finance and Technology for the finance application portfolio, with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and EPM as the largest platform. The Director is accountable for leading the team that translates finance needs into sustainable technology outcomes across requirements gathering, solution design, functional configuration, testing, release, production support, and incident resolution for Oracle Fusion ERP, EPM, and adjacent finance applications.

Responsibilities of the Role:

Finance–Technology Partnership and Demand Management

  • Lead the team that serves as the primary liaison between Finance and Technology for Oracle Fusion ERP, EPM, and in-scope non-Oracle finance applications, with clear accountability across business, functional, and technical teams.
  • Build executive-level relationships with finance process owners and leaders while ensuring team members maintain effective day-to-day stakeholder partnerships.
  • Oversee demand intake, discovery, requirements definition, estimation, dependency and risk assessment, prioritization, and roadmap development for projects and enhancements.
  • Ensure Finance needs are translated into clearly articulated solution options, trade-offs, recommendations, and expected business outcomes.
  • Provide executive reporting on roadmap delivery, service performance, risks, capacity, controls, and realized business value across the finance application portfolio.

Solution Design and Configuration Governance

  • Lead and oversee the team's functional solution design across business processes, application configuration, reporting, data, security, and controls.
  • Establish design and configuration standards that ensure solutions are secure, controlled, scalable, supportable, and aligned with enterprise technology standards.
  • Oversee finance-owned application configuration and business rules, including documentation, peer review, testing evidence, approvals, migration readiness, and knowledge transfer.
  • Partner with Finance data owners to govern core financial structures, including ledgers, charts of accounts, calendars, legal entities, hierarchies, and reference data, and to promote data quality, reconciliation, and alignment across finance applications.
  • Provide governance and approval for high-impact and cross-module designs and maintain coherence across ERP, EPM, and adjacent finance applications.

Project and Enhancement Delivery

  • Lead the team responsible for delivering projects and enhancements from approved requirements through solution design, configuration, testing, business acceptance, release, stabilization, and benefits realization.
  • Establish delivery standards, governance, milestones, and decision points; monitor scope, schedule, capacity, risks, dependencies, and business readiness.
  • Coordinate Finance, Technology, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve delivery issues and ensure solutions transition effectively into production support.

Application Support and Incident Management

  • Establish and oversee incident and service-request processes, including intake, impact and priority assessment, functional triage, assignment, escalation, stakeholder communication, SLA monitoring, and closure validation.
  • Ensure the team investigates and resolves configuration-related incidents and coordinates with Technology when resolution requires integrations, custom code, security, infrastructure, or vendor support.
  • Oversee the configuration-ticket backlog and lifecycle, including documentation, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, testing, controlled deployment, and reduction of recurring defects.
  • Monitor service performance, recurring issues, operational risks; drive problem management, knowledge management, and continuous improvement.

People Leadership, Controls, and Capability Building

  • Lead, coach, and develop a distributed team; establish performance expectations, accountability, succession plans, and career development priorities.
  • Own resource and capacity planning, staffing, skills strategy, and capability roadmap across support, configuration, solutioning, and domain ownership.
  • Maintain the Finance–Technology operating model, including clear ownership, decision rights, escalation paths, and segregation of duties across request, build, test, approval, and deployment.
  • Partner with Internal Audit, SOX, Security, and Technology on control design, evidence, remediation, and compliance for all in-scope applications.

Requirements of the Role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years in finance systems, including 5+ years leading distributed and offshore teams.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and EPM financial modules.
  • Demonstrated experience eliciting and documenting requirements, leading functional solution design, and configuring finance applications in a controlled production environment.
  • Proven ability to operate as the liaison between Finance and Technology, align stakeholders, translate business needs into functional and technical outcomes, and manage cross-team dependencies.
  • Proven track record managing an application portfolio end-to-end, including projects, enhancements, configuration, incident triage, configuration-ticket resolution, SLAs, releases, and production stabilization.
  • Experience with formal change, incident, problem, and service-request processes in an IT service management platform such as ServiceNow.
  • Strong executive communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to move effectively between finance leadership discussions, requirements workshops, incident reviews, and detailed design sessions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent finance credential.
  • Experience integrating third-party finance applications (treasury management, revenue, tax engines such as OneSource) with Oracle Fusion.
  • Experience through an Oracle Cloud implementation or a major re-platform, and with quarterly Oracle release management.
  • Experience standing up or maturing a finance systems Center of Excellence.
  • Reporting and analytics exposure — Power BI, OTBI/BIP, FDI, FRS, Narrative Reporting
