Acts as a liaison to each Foundation Finance Officer in establishing their operating budget target and makes recommendations for budget cuts needed to achieve targets; spreading of monthly operating budget targets to align with local entity recommendations.Provides leadership and direction for the financial decision support systems and reporting at Sutter Health. Manages and maintains cost accounting systems including system admin, data integration and auditing as appropriate. Supports the implementation and acquisition of new lines of business. Provide monthly/quarterly standard reporting and dashboards. Reviews, prepares, analyzes, and presents reports and recommendations to senior leadership regarding operations, programs, services, and/or other applicable areas of interest in order to provide concise and accurate information that aids in decision-making.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelor's: Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
12 years recent relevant experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience overseeing large‑scale ambulatory financial portfolios, including multi‑division operating budgets with complex net revenue, revenue modeling, and staff/labor modeling, operating income, and EBITDA targets.
- Background developing and standardizing financial infrastructure, such as budgeting software, modeling templates, cost‑allocation tools, and productivity reporting systems.
- Proven ability to build and enhance operational and financial reporting capabilities, including pro forma standardization and effective use of enterprise data assets.
- Experience supporting strategic growth initiatives, including long‑range financial planning (LRF), ambulatory pipeline development, and evaluation of expansion opportunities.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of SEQUEL (SQL).
Working knowledge of accounting and/or finance operations.
Thorough knowledge of managerial/financial accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) used in the preparation of financial statements.
Working knowledge of healthcare operations and financial reporting requirements.
Knowledge and understanding of healthcare financial and operating challenges and the business environment, including emerging trends and issues.
Ability to translate complex financial data and analysis into presentations for appropriate audience.
Strategic skills for reviewing processes and strategies to ensure successful alignment with business needs and for identifying improvement opportunities
Analytical skills with proven ability to resolve issues/problems by leveraging business and functional knowledge, and client relationships.
Collaborative working style to facilitate open sharing of information and cooperation with various project participants and/or stakeholders.
Demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues to manage/minimize risks.
Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of role’s duties while respecting cultural and linguistic differences and fostering an inclusive work environment.
Ability to communicate through verbal and written means, and to present concepts and information in a manner that is readily understood by management and employees.

Pay Range is $161,616.00 to $258,585.60 / annual salaryThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
