The Role

Job Description:

We’re actively seeking a talented Director of Finance and Reinsurance Data to join our PL Data team in Newport Beach, CA.
As a Director of Finance and Reinsurance Data, you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by leading the delivery of data solutions for the Finance and Reinsurance data domains. You will fill an existing role in the PL Data organization in Corporate division. Your colleagues will include leaders in the PL data organization who are the data delivery leads for other data domains or lead horizontal functions such as data platform, architecture, governance etc.

How you’ll help move us forward:.

  • Deliver data solutions that meet business needs and track expected outcomes
  • Lead  Agile delivery for the Finance and Ceded Reinsurance data domains.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to manage expectations and priorities.
  • Ensure data architecture and engineering standards and best practices are followed.
  • Ensure data governance standards and best practices are followed.
  • Ensure data quality assurance processes are followed. Identify and pursue opportunities to improve data quality
  • Provide coaching and support to staff for development opportunities and career path guidance

The experience you bring:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in technology strategy and delivery
  • Experience developing, socializing and maintaining technology strategy roadmaps including building explicit alignment with business strategy and objectives
  • Strong communication and organization capabilities including data-driven execution as well as driving accountability across delivery teams

What makes you stand out:

  • Finance, Actuarial  or  Reinsurance  data domain experience
  • Demonstrated experience with automation and data technologies (e.g. Snowflake, DBT, AWS)
  • Experience implementing enterprise data solutions  particularly in the insurance / financial services industry

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$180,180.00 - $220,220.00
