Job Description:
The Director, Commercial Finance leads all the financial planning, processes and strategic initiatives across the MSNA commercial portfolio (Confectionery, Salty, AFH and Canada). The role serves as a key business partner to the SVP, Commercial NA and their leadership team, providing financial insights and guidance to drive performance and decision making.
The position owns full accountability for commercial (procurement) financial outcomes, including budgeting and forecasting Primes spend, inflation analysis and mitigation strategies, along with long term planning for the commercial team. This leader also plays a critical role in advancing value leadership initiatives and identifying synergies across the commercial organization. Success in this role requires strong financial acumen, strategic thinking and the ability to influence and partner effectively across cross functional teams.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field
- At least 10 years of experience in Finance or Accounting, with a minimum of 5 years in a business partnership finance role
- Experience in CPG is advantageous, otherwise strong learning agility is critical
- Strong understanding and experience of financial planning, analysis, and financial operations
- Prior experience in managing procurement/commercial finance is highly preferred
- Strong analytical and communication skills and be detail-oriented
What will be your key responsibilities?
Strategic Business Partnering:
- Strategic Planning: Partner with the Sr VP Commercial and their leadership team to develop, monitor and evaluate long term growth strategies (iVCP) and annual execution plans (AEP) for Primes.
- Value Leadership: Drive VL/Synergy Drive agenda for Primes – participating in ideation sessions, aligning on key decisions, and ensuring the forecasting and reporting for VL/synergy is accurate and aligned with business strategy
- Business Partnering: Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing prime spend across MSNA and provide business decision support for inflation forecasting and other macro economic factors affecting prime spend. Key stakeholders will be category managers (commercial buyers), risk management teams, and category business unit finance.
Operational & Financial Control:
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Oversee and manage the financial planning processes for commercial, including budgeting, forecasting and long term planning.
- Performance Monitoring: Lead executive level financial reporting, including monthly variance analysis, and development of high quality, concise and focused management reports ensuring information adds value to both Supply Chain, Commercial and Category BU audiences.
- External Perspective: Understand key commodities and best in class competitor insights to help bring perspective to the commercial SVP, risk management teams and NA CFO.
- Risk & Compliance: Establish and enforce financial policies – specially dealing with suppliers to maintain compliance with policies.
Leadership:
- Team Development: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of finance support for commercial finance

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
