Title and Summary
Director, Finance Business Partner
This position is responsible for managing business development deal process end-to-end with cross-functional teams for Global Partnerships. The Finance Business Partner role has a broad remit, from supporting the modelling of new business cases to contracting stage and execution, as well as providing oversight on regions alignment, deal approval coordination at senior management level; deal pipeline management and Deal reporting/KPI.
Key responsibilities:
• Support the process for the creation, review, and approval of business development opportunities • Embodies the LBF (lead beyond finance) initiative in a customer-facing role; directly interacts with external partners to negotiate new business opportunities with merchants and acquirers• Partners with regions, business units, business partners and/or Corporate to assist in developing, analyzing, and validating new business opportunities. May support regional level payments by working with issuing and/or acquiring banks to analyze the integrity of payments and resolve billing inquiries• Performs new opportunity assessments by providing counsel to the business around ongoing deals and Customer Business Agreements [CBA]• Executes large, complex agreements, leveraging subject matter expertise [SME] for their designated area (e.g. financial & data technology tools)• Assists with strategy and process improvements to ensure alignment with markets• Lead Strategic Deal Structuring: Drive the development, review, and governance of customer proposals, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.• Manage Complex and Non-traditional Deals: Take ownership of large-scale and unconventional deals, proactively identifying and escalating potential complexities to ensure timely resolution.• Drive Strategic Financial Modelling: Support the creation of financial models and business cases & developing robust tools for scenario analysis ensuring data-driven recommendations are presented to key stakeholders to enhance profitability and competitive positioning• Collaborate for Business Growth: Partner with Customer Account Managers & wider cross functional teams to retain and grow business with merchants, and key Digital players, FinTech's...through tailored deal strategies.• Policy and Process Optimization: Work closely with regional & global stakeholders to refine policy frameworks and streamline deal processes, driving efficiency and strategic alignment across the region.• Lead Negotiations and Finalize Agreements: Guide customer negotiations balancing thoughtful risk taking with protecting MA interests to finalize agreements. • Ensure Regional Alignment: Coordinate with Global markets to implement updates to business development procedures, approval workflows, and compliance requirements.• Enable Team Excellence: Provide training and advisory support to account teams on financial modelling, business case development, and best practices.• Deal Review and Approval: Oversee the review and approval of GP deals, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial goals.
